AFAIK the standard procedure for aircraft carrier landings are to go full throttle just before touchdown, so you will get back into air in case of missing the wire.

✈️ Here’s the landing. Video of the pilot bringing the aircraft down without its landing gear this afternoon at the Kokomo Municipal Airport. Thankfully, the plane came to a safe stop and the pilot was able to walk away. About as good an outcome as you could ask for. 👏
