No, it's not. It's just an OBD2 scanner which gets TCs from the car's computer. You'll still need a mechanic to fix what causes the trouble codes.

No they love it because it just disables the warning lights and when the engine goes gafuck the mechanic charges a fortune because you didn't pay attention

It may be interesting to see what errors are occurring, but deleting them is completely pointless. It's like "treating" a disease by breaking a thermometer.

@CommunityNotes are wrong. Yes, these devices can delete codes, but that's not all they do. You can research the code and fix the issue for thousands less often. I fixed a faulty ignition coil with mine. Would have cost me maybe $1500 at the mechanics. I paid about $30...

OBD (On Board Diagnostics) devices mainly fetch vehicle performance data to troubleshoot better. And in real-time It doesn't really fix anything, it allows you to reset only a few error flags. If the problem persists, ECU (Engine Ctrl Unit) will flag the error again, right away.
