This pseudoscience is the fundamental basis for "gender-affirming care."

How do they square the idea that gender is a social construct with the idea that gender is determined by the brain?

They think they can alter the “brain sex” of mice by exposing them in utero (if I remember the timing correctly) to certain hormones at exactly the right time in development. The male mice then come out acting more female and the female mice behave more male. But it in no way changes their biological sex. I have no idea how any of this applies to humans since we have a degree of free will and self actualization mice don’t have. But it’s not even brain-body sex mismatch most of these troubled people have—it’s a social contagion or a sexual perversion.

So if sex is a spectrum then why are the transwomen on that spectrum so convinced they are women instead of "transwomen". If sex is a spectrum and being trans is natural and healthy, why do they need gender affirming surgeries and medications to be their natural healthy selves?
