It’s not that easy. The top of the crease is not a straight line and when the player moved the puck to the right it was at the top middle of the crease so when the puck goes to the side the distance between the blue and white increases but that doesn’t mean it went backwards

Would help if you understood hockey rules. It is the player and their forward movement that cannot reverse direction. It does not apply to the stick handling maneuver.
