🐆 Not too far from Pune, a young leopard cub took an unintended plunge into a well. Quickly rescued using a trap cage, we convinced the locals to allow us to attempt a reunion at the spot. Overcoming challenges, including a manual pulley operation and staying camouflaged 800 meters away, the cub was monitored thru the cams anxiously. Thankfully for this cub, the reunion was purr-fectly quick. The skies celebrated with us — nature's nod of approval, the heavens opened up with rain just as the two were reunited and the cub was back in it's mothers embrace. (whew!) This was a mind blowing interview of Madhu Trehan way back in 2012 if I’m not wrong. The way she took on this Thapar fellow was a pleasure to watch, squirming uncomfortably in his chair as threw really wicked questions at him one after the other. By the look on his face he’d have strangled her if he was given the liberty. I loved Madhu for the way she brutally beat him to his game, he deserved every bit of it 😅

A dark little #leopard surprise was hauled out of a tank as this this black beauty emerged with his other 2 siblings that had fallen in. Among leopards, a rare genetic mutation can lead to melanism, producing individuals with striking dark & black (ish!) coats. From despair to hope and from struggle to triumph, this is the incredible story of a wild elephant mother's fight for survival backed by a dedicated and professional team of foresters and vets from Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu Forest Department .The mother elephant was found sick and lying on ground with her 3 months old baby roaming around her in confusion and distress.The team consulted experts and vets and successfully lifted her with the help of a crane. She was kept supported by the crane for three days while being treated by Vets. Her baby joined the herd and other siblings roaming in the nearby forests visiting the mother in the night.
