You probably don't know, but that "spinach" isn't spinach.

All based on a typo in a scientific paper. Specifically they printed the decimal point of the iron content of spinich in the wrong place. By the time the error was spotted, popeye was already one of the most popular toons going.

Bluto had his win!

How did he not get kidney stones from all the spinach

It actually stretched into my generation as well 😅

Why did he do that? What was the context, or episode for that matter?

How else could it? Seeing him swallow that juicy mush time and time again as if it's sweet. How could you not feel like swallowing it yourself? Though a can of raw spinach is pretty disappointing in reality.

I'd buy this old series on dvd if it was out.

He never ated spinach. People never realized that either. He was eating some sort of thing made to power soldiers in war, and the side effect would be a permanent shut eye, and yeah just overall health. You can compare it to the strength boost instantly.

Reminds me of how my 9yo younger brother is a proud Spinach enthusiast, so proud of him and his mindset🥹
