‘Rejoice, O Unwedded Bride!’ — The Akathist Hymn honors the Theotokos not as divine, but as the one who bore God in the flesh. Just as Elizabeth called her ‘blessed among women’ (Luke 1:42), so do we. Her prayers are intercession, not salvation, Christ alone saves.
