This reflects how deeply Persian identity still runs in Iran. A few years ago, an Arab Muslim visiting Ramadan was shocked to see many Iranian indifferent to fasting or Islam. They may be forcefully converted but the are still closer to Persia than the Iranian Islamic regime.

This needs to be subtitled: An Egyptian brother visiting Iran is deeply shocked by the widespread disregard for Islam, Ramadan and fasting in Iran. It's as if most Iranian (Shia) men are experiencing menstruation or something. No society is perfect, but by Allah, you won't find such mass disrespect for the sanctity of Ramadan except in Shia Iran. (Sunni people in Iran are known to uphold Ramadan just like most Muslims around the world). Shiism and its clergy have totally ruined the anything remotely Islamic in the Shia heartland of Iran. #Ramadan1445 #Ramadan2024

When I lived in the US, I had many Iranian friends. Not one was a practising Muslim. Out of politeness, I never asked them why. Now, videos like this makes me think… Maybe they were Zoroastrians.
