Seeing people get excited and pumped up about this event has been something that has severely helped my mental health. I’m glad I can insert such a large amount of positivity and fun into the fandom and being able to put my soul into this event to make it amazing has been great.

Our daughter Julia and some girlfriends are visiting San Francisco, California, for the first time, and her initial reaction is: “I love how many tech people are here. I can immediately recognize.” As if to prove the point, the girls took a ride in a Waymo (driverless taxi)—a Jaguar no less—which still seems like magic to me. Nice to have a sense of wonder in a world where we’ve become so jaded to technological advances.
