Viserys annoyed me from the very first episode because bro carried himself like somebody important while everybody around him was clearly tired of him Every time things didn’t go his way he immediately started threatening people like a spoiled child. And the way he treated Daenerys was disgusting. You could tell he stopped seeing her as his sister a long time ago and only saw her as the thing that could get him his throne back. Meanwhile Daenerys slowly started adapting and earning respect naturally while Viserys just kept embarrassing himself more every episode. This was Viserys' final desperate attempt to reunite his family and preserve peace, and in that moment, he genuinely believed he had succeeded. Yes, he shares part of the blame for the Dance… but what makes this heartbreaking is how he is completely convinced that everything is finally held together, right before it all inevitably falls apart. Paddy Considine sold this scene perfectly, and it's IMO one of the most beautiful and wholesome moments in the entire GOT universe.

The gears of his mind turning, remembering every moment he listend to leizi play his piano, and the light in his eyes as he realized, the smile as he realized. . . It was all so evident.
