In a way you can say this movie was a surprisingly decent attempt of tackling toxic masculinity. Goofy isn’t ashamed to be himself and express his unconditional love for Max, but Max is because he feels he needs to prove something to society-a society where men like Pete thrive.

I love that Twitter, collectively, got together to discuss a genuinely excellent kids film in response to that obnoxious pastel GCI nightmare of a Minecraft trailer.

I haven't watched a goofy movie in years, but that actually felt upsetting to see goofy realizing his son has never said, "I love you, dad." To him ever.

i cant think of many "kids" animated films nowadays that would even so much as show the cigarette plug in a car

I also want to mention the scene in the rapids where Goofy says he understands Max has his own life but just wants to be part of it (the way that hit through every fibre)

It's the way they stop laughing after Goofy says, "Or I love you!". God, that one fucking hurt. You could feel the tension behind it.

I don't care what anyone says, I count this movie as a Disney Renaissance classic

This scene also had the funniest moment in the whole movie, lol.
