Jeremy Brown is the perfect analogy for Moneyball—it was all BS. Analytics acolytes wanted so badly to shoehorn their narrative into the A’s success; turned out it was because they had 3 good starting pitchers—not the esoteric, unknown wisdom that a walk is as good as a hit.

As I recall, the A’s won only one pennant. Moneyball was always fiction and we didn’t realize it.
