This scene is the peak of the Arya/Sandor duo. It’s the brutal clash between Syrio Forel’s elegance and Clegane’s "stay alive at any cost" pragmatism. "The greatest swordsman who ever lived killed by Meryn fing Trant?!" 🔥 😂 Sandor wasn’t just being a jërk; he was teaching her that in Westeros, speed is great, but steel is better. In otherwise, fancy training means nothing. If you bring a wooden sword to a real fight, you’re good dead.

If you want to talk about a moment that perfectly captures the Bittersweet essence of Game of Thrones, it’s this one. This isn't just a scene about a girl shooting a guy; it’s the ultimate collision between duty and desire. Watching Ygritte pull that bowstring back is gut-wrenching. You can see the war behind her eyes: she’s a warrior of the Free Folk who should kill the crow who betrayed them, but she’s also a woman who found her world in Jon Snow. Ygritte doesn't miss. If she wanted Jon dead, he’d be a corpse. Those three arrows weren't a failure—they were her saying: "I hate you for leaving, but I can't bring myself to kill you."

the camera being in a tight close up on both ilya and shane for the entirety of this scene, except for the moment when ilya is working up the courage to say he’s in love. it’s like for the whole conversation it’s just the two of them, there’s nobody else who matters, and then for a brief moment the shot widens as ilya considers the implications of the fact he’s in love with shane. the fact that the rest of the world DOES matter and will always be a presence in their relationship. we’ve been held in this moment between the two of them and by widening the shot, that intimacy is broken just for a second as we’re reminded that there is a world beyond the two of them and ilya is still in russia. what he’s doing is incredibly dangerous. then the camera tightens back into a close up as he realises he needs to say it anyway because all that matters is that he’s on the phone with shane and he’s in love with him. it really is just the two of them in this moment and he doesn’t want to let anyone else in.

The stone-cold competence Ron DeSantis is displaying in Florida right now is just a preview of the kind of leadership America can expect from him as president. He may not be flashy, but when a crisis comes, this is the guy you want in charge.

🎞️This tense, satisfying scene follows a reckless, entitled man who drunkenly corners and tries to sexually harass a young waitress in a bar, thinking he can get away with his cruel behavior. But his arrogance quickly backfires—those who stand for justice step in fast, putting a brutal stop to his assault and teaching him a harsh lesson. A raw, unflinching moment from the Yellowstone prequel, full of western grit and tough justice. #film#movie

Calling a man “she” out of “respect” is disrespecting truth & reality, while simultaneously putting yourself in the position of having to argue why that “she” isn’t a woman when the only reason he isn’t is because he’s a he.

If you profess to be a Christian, but your hermeneutical approach or eschatological stance prevents you from presenting the Gospel to a Jew with the sort of clarity, respect, and kindness that John MacArthur displays in this conversation with Ben Shapiro, you need to rethink everything. "I want to say this to you personally. You are a testimony to the glory of God in man. I see the beauty of God's creation in you. I see the use of reason and compassion and care...but I'm saying, you either believe Jesus is the Savior or you don't, and that's the distinction."

🗣 Zelensky described the kind of life he hopes to have after the war and his presidency “The point is that after the war and after this presidential job, you should be able to continue living in your own country, walk the streets, and have no one want to kill you or hate you simply because you were a piece of… rather than a leader and a man. That’s what it’s about,” the Ukrainian president said in an interview with the WSJ.

This farm kid learns the heartbreaking reality that his favorite cow is becoming food. The father does a great job of explaining why and then he takes himself to his son’s level and acknowledges his emotions and validates them. This young man is going to be an amazing person. I think the dad did a good job. Little man tried so hard to be strong. I know a lot of children who get sad when they go to market too. But the dad explained it so well! They do have purpose, and it is to feed us... it’s part of life. 🥹 This is why I could never be a farmer. 💯 Have you ever experienced this emotion of raising a cow or pig and then having to take them to market? Anyone thinking about being a farmer, could you handle this?

Shaved head, silver tongue, and the biggest heart in the Seven Kingdoms. Egg isn't just a squire; he’s the secret soul of Westeros. Whether he’s teaching Dunk how to sew or putting entitled lords in their place, he’s a total scene-stealer. Egg is the real treasure! 🔥

Just a few days ago, you bombed innocent Nigerians in a market in Geidam. In this case, you jumped the fence of his home, killed him in his bedroom and this is the best you can come up with? Who made the call that you responded to? Where exactly was the armed robbery? How many of the armed robbers did you neutralise or arrest? How many innocent Nigerians has the Nigerian military decided to kill? Is the death from terrorists, herdsmen, kidnappers and hardship not enough? Is it a crime to be a Nigerian?

Gavin McKenna is already seeing the effects of moving in with John Tavares, saying that not only is Tavares a hard worker on the ice, but he works just as hard off the ice, with his recovery and diet “For me, being a young guy and having a veteran like that kind of take me under his wing, it’s just how dialled in he is off the ice. You know, when you see him on the ice, he’s one of the hardest workers every single shift, but it’s how he takes care of his body, with his food, even in his house, he’s got all the recovery stuff. He played all 82 games last year, and I think that’s just with the work he puts in off the ice. For me, being a young guy, to learn that pretty quick, I think that’d be awesome.” 🎥: Toronto Maple Leafs #leafsforever

Calling the police on someone you love is a type of heartbreak that doesn't have a name. It’s the agonizing middle ground between loyalty and survival, where you have to choose between protecting someone’s future and protecting a life in the present. This video captures the moment a mother had to make the ultimate "hard call." When things escalated, she didn’t turn a blind eye or make excuses. She realized that loving her son didn't mean staying silent; it meant stepping up to ensure his girlfriend was safe and out of harm's way. It takes a special kind of strength to hold your own blood accountable. She chose peace over silence and safety over comfort. Protecting the vulnerable is the highest form of integrity, even when it feels like it’s costing you everything in the moment. We need more people who are willing to do what is right, even when it’s the hardest thing they’ve ever had to do. What would you do in her shoes?

This African dad is being dragged online for carrying his daughter during what seems to be a harmless moment of family bonding. Some people argue that this kind of affection isn’t typical of traditional African culture. But is that really the case?

Frank Slootman’s advice for founders learning to be CEO Founders frequently ask Frank (former CEO of Snowflake), “Do you think I can be a CEO?” Frank responds with a question: “Do you want to be?” He explains: “If you want to be, you need to become a student of the role because it’s different.” One of the biggest differences in transitioning to being an “operating CEO” is that a founder’s “reality distortion field” becomes a liability. Frank explains: “Reality distortion is a very useful thing. Steve Jobs wouldn’t have done anything if he didn’t have reality distortion — you have to see the world differently, and you wouldn’t start a company if you didn’t have reality distortion. But when you start running a place for scale and breakout velocity, you need intellectual honesty.” He continues: “You need to see the world the way it really is… Not some version of the truth. And by the way, it’s hard. You have to drive for that intellectual honesty with everything.” A lack of intellectually honesty is where Frank sees a lot of founders go wrong: “They can’t handle the truth. When they have sales problems, it’s always, ‘Oh let’s get a new Sales VP.’ Well, maybe the product sucks. But that’s a conversation they don’t want to have.” Video source: Foundation Capital (2024)
