This scene is based on a real life training session I had when I was a middle manager working in an office. I sat at the back making notes. But not the notes I was meant to be making. I was thinking about a future sitcom 😂

‘There’s been a rape up there’ 🤣🙌

Absolute classic! You are a comedy god, recently rewatched Afterlife, again, it is pure perfection🥰

The way he goes from slightly perturbed to utterly incredulous is perfect 🤪😂

@grok please explain this post like you are Karl Pilkington

Alright, so Ricky’s posted this clip from The Office, yeah? It’s that bit where David Brent’s doing a training session, trying to teach folk how to deal with customer complaints, but he’s proper useless. He’s pretending to be a rubbish hotel manager, and someone says there’s been a rape upstairs. Brent just goes, “Not my shift, don’t care.” It’s meant to be funny cos it shows how daft he is, not cos of the rape bit. Ricky said he got the idea from a real training he went to, where he thought, “This is so stupid, I’ll make a show out of it.” And that’s The Office—taking the mick out of bad bosses. Some folk love it, others reckon it’s a bit much with the rape line. Depends how you take it, really.

Hilarious!

How the hell was your acting so good though. Bloody hell, it's incredible

What happened to the sitcom idea ?

This is when I became a lifelong fan of yours!

I miss David Brent.
