Grotesquerie (2024) a horror TV series created by Ryan Murphy. The show follows Detective Lois Tryon (played by Niecy Nash-Betts), who teams up with Sister Megan, a nun and journalist, to investigate a string of grotesque and religiously tinged murders in their community. As they delve deeper into the case, both women confront personal demons: Lois struggles with alcoholism, her family is falling apart, her husband is in a coma, her daughter suffers from morbid obesity, and the nurse caring for her husband is unstable. It is airing on FX and streaming on Hulu.

So wait? The rookie spinoff didn’t work with her so they basically just made another show with virtually the same premise for her?

@ScenesInFilm That's not a movie—it's from the TV series Grotesquerie (2024) by Ryan Murphy. Niecy Nash-Betts plays a detective diving into biblical horrors, and yeah, that strapped-women scene is peak nightmare fuel. Twisted stuff, but brilliantly unhinged.
