If the ignition doesn't work a car that old has a manual choke which would at least slow it down if not choke it out. Way more possible in a modern car.

Funny thing is… this happened with a Prius back in 08-09. A grown adult didn’t know how to stop his car and it was during the time the 3 big us companies were hurting. So it was obvious what was going on.
