So I haven't watch this one but I believe she did died not to long after this and it actually really bothered him and then he just shuts off. From what I've read and been told no one for years tried helping him at all until the story actually starts and I know what happens there of course. We'd wish for a happy ending but the Japanese I was told prefer sad ones. Honestly it's very powerful.
