This scene still gets me every single time. Arthur just sits there dead calm telling Murray “there’s no punchline… it’s not a joke” and then drops “comedy is subjective, Murray.” The whole room shifts.

@CinemaRoast Joaquin’s delivery in this scene is unmatched.

But many people are complaining about the sequel @grok please tell why

The main gripes with *Joker: Folie à Deux* were that it ditched the raw, intense character study of the first film for a slower musical courtroom drama. Lots of people felt the songs added little, the story dragged while rehashing events, and it deliberately subverted the anarchic Joker energy fans wanted in favor of meta introspection. Phoenix's performance still got props, but the overall direction and tone left many feeling it was a pretentious letdown.

@AwaOnyeoma Oooh

@CinemaRoast @AwaOnyeoma Yeah, the pivot to a slower musical courtroom drama really threw people off. Phoenix was solid as always, but the songs and meta tone felt like a deliberate subversion that didn't click for most. What stood out to you?

@CinemaRoast never should have made a sequel, ever. it ruined this one.

I don't agree with you 💯

@CinemaRoast Joaquin Phoenix owned this scene.

Totally agree 💯

@CinemaRoast They hit the nail on the head so hard with this movie that they had to fuck up the sequel so ppl don’t take this movie as a rallying cry.

Maybe the writer didn't get the audience right😂 when doing the sequel

@CinemaRoast I always love seeing Robert De Niro get blasted in this scene.

My lord, why would you say that 😂😂

@CinemaRoast This scene was so powerful…. Murray literally was not listening to nothing he was saying

He thought he was just speaking out of his mind

@CinemaRoast 100% and tryna make him feel bad for what he did and not actually think WHY it happened “They were bad people”

But he killed the three guys because they were bullying him

@CinemaRoast For no reason ….“ they were bad people”

@CinemaRoast I can’t be the only one who thought this movie was absolute garbage. I almost walked out. The 10 people around me when we were walking out were all laughing wondering what garbage did we just watch.

Lol 😂😂

@CinemaRoast Joker 2 was pure cremated ass

My goodness 😱

@CinemaRoast Boom

Haven't watched this one before but I shall consider checking it out

@CinemaRoast That whole scene is so tense because you can feel something bad coming, but Arthur stays so calm and matter-of-fact about it all.

😂😂

The problem is that there are plenty of “Jokers” all around, in every city/local. They become celebrities. This movie was disturbing, but was supposed to be just a movie. But, why aren’t people disturbed now by this same kind of criminal insanity occurring now. They even dress like crazy clowns commuting violent, evil crimes. Yet, they are continually released back on the streets from our judicial system & given support to commit crimes over & over again.

Spoke from your heart 💜

@CinemaRoast I saw this shit at the movies on its opening weekend, and as soon as he pulled that gun out , I legit screamed "HOLY SHIT!!!"

Infront of everyone

@CinemaRoast Yep!!! When he pulled out that Gun and then SHOT HIM IN THE HEAD, "HOLY SHIT" CAME OUT.

@CinemaRoast Comedy is subjective… but that delivery is pure menace. Joaquin owned the room

🤔

@CinemaRoast Still one of the most uncomfortable yet perfect scenes ever filmed

Tell us more senior man, about joker

@CinemaRoast That scene, crossing the boundary between comedy and tragedy, gives me goosebumps every time I watch it.

@5ozmp Why?

@CinemaRoast It's because of Heath Ledger's acting ability.

@CinemaRoast Joaquin Phoenix owned this scene. The tension was incredible from start to finish.

Gotham was ready

@CinemaRoast An ending so good they had to create an equally opposite gay movie to offset it

So what was so wrong with the sequel?

@CinemaRoast The silence between the lines is what makes this scene unforgettable.

But heres is where Joker is re-modelled

@CinemaRoast One of the worst movies ever except for the second one.

Just the sequel?

@CinemaRoast This is an amazing movie to watch.

You can say that again

@CinemaRoast Wow this is awful looks like I didn’t miss anything by not watching it 🤣

@CinemaRoast This scene was intense in theatre theater. I went and saw it opening night. The best scenes were when Arthur started snapping 🤷🏾♂️

But why are other people saying it's a garbage 😂

@CinemaRoast That’s their opinion. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion 🤷🏾♂️

@CinemaRoast THATS fuckin acting right there ladies and gentlemen. Brings a tear to my eye every time, phoenix reaches out and GRABS you with how grounded and real his performance is, then makes you believe it. Like FOR REAL believe it. The emotion and anger. The psychopathy… in-fucking-sane

This movie was so bad. The point of the movie is that none of it happened…or some of it happened…like we have no idea at the end. It’s dumb. We’re just spending two hours inside the mind of a crazy dude, which means nothing is credible. On top of that, between this movie and The Batman, why does Thomas Wayne have to be a piece of shit now? Couldn’t he be a humanitarian that tried his best and got killed by a homeless dude (or the Joker) which is a part of what inspires Bruce to become Batman?

All that bro

@CinemaRoast Terrible movie. Down right awful

Why it's such an amazing movie for sure

@CinemaRoast I prefer Batman’s critique of this version of Joker:

Lit 💯

@CinemaRoast Played the character so good they had to make a sequel to ruin the first one bc they didn’t want this character to stick 😂

😂😂 they turned it,so it was politicized?

@CinemaRoast Master performance.

Thank you at last, been waiting for positive comment

@CinemaRoast “No te burles del payaso”

@Griseldaiwtf Murray was mocking him, lol 😂

@CinemaRoast Mannnn the whole theater was quiet in this scene that shit was epic

I felt it too, but why do you think sequel to this Movie isn't that appreciated?

@CinemaRoast Funny you should ask that Hollywood didn’t like this scene to much real that’s why they made the sequel a musical that’s why they killed heath to much realness

@CinemaRoast Such a bad film

Lol 😂

@CinemaRoast He was mentally unstable right in this movie? and the tension in this movie is a good

Exactly that's what guys are not getting

@CinemaRoast Agree 👌🏻

@CinemaRoast this performance will go down as the greatest.

You are the only one saying it's good, 😂😂 the comments is crazy

@CinemaRoast Movie?

This Joker

@CinemaRoast Its a shame what they did to the sequel

Why do you think the sequel wasn't that good?

@CinemaRoast It was a musical a shity one at that and lady gaga Movies are garbage anymore in my opinion They always take what a majority of the public want go the opposite then destroy it with bad writing and a woke mind set
