this scene was perfect actually because it highlights colin wanting her badly but is not willing to act on it while he’s still upset with her. highlighting the importance of not acting on what you want because you think you’re entitled to do so

He knows what desire alone feels like and he doesn’t want it anymore: he wants the electrifying combination of love, intimacy, trust and desire that they shared the first two times. Until he can resolve his hurt, confusion & betrayal, he can’t get there emotionally

I don’t think anything is wrong with this scene but I do think something is wrong with the lack of any other intimate scene that occurred after this point. We deserved a lot more than 10 seconds. It was important.

He waits a few seconds before opening the door, as if preparing himself because he knew that she was going to be on the other side and he was not going to be able to contain himself for long.

I get it but that made this fall flat, we needed touches and physical manifestation of desire because that is what most of us as viewers of romance read /watch it for.
