The medical exam scene at the end of Captain Phillips used a real Navy corpsman, Danielle Albert, who performed the procedure as she would in real life. Paul Greengrass kept the moment largely unscripted, capturing Tom Hanks’ raw, shaken performance.

A Ghanaian content creator has uncovered the intriguing story of Captain Richard Williams, whose grave lies in the middle of a road in Half Assini. According to locals, the captain met his demise around 100 years ago when his ship sank, and he was buried in what was then a remote area. As the town developed and roads expanded, the grave remained in place, now surrounded by modern infrastructure. [🎥:VoicesGH/Tiktok]

"Richard Phillips talks about this, where one of the boats from the Bainbridge shows up and he sees a dude with a massive beard, covered in tattoos, and he’s like, ‘Hi, sir.’ The snipers took the shot, killed the pirates, and then one of our guys fireman’s-crawled down the tow cable to secure Captain Phillips. It was the most bada** thing that happened during that mission. But when Phillips came back, Vice President Biden got up and said, ‘The guys from SEAL Team 6 did a great job,’ and he outed us in front of the world." PS

WAIT… TOM HANKS ACTUALLY REMEMBERED THIS GUY FROM SAVING PRIVATE RYAN. That is the moment this red-chair story suddenly becomes something completely different. Adam Shaw walks onto The Graham Norton Show with a ridiculous story about getting his first acting job on Saving Private Ryan and then Tom Hanks recognizes him. Think about that. For Adam, it was one of the biggest experiences of his life. For Hanks, there were hundreds of people involved in making that movie. He could have easily forgotten him. Instead, Hanks starts connecting the dots and suddenly Adam isn't just some random person sitting in the red chair telling an old Hollywood story. He's someone Tom actually remembers. And that's what makes this moment so good. The funniest stories aren't always the ones with the biggest celebrity names or the most dramatic ending. Sometimes it's just the shock of realizing that a person you thought would never remember you actually did. That has to feel pretty surreal.

One of the most haunting scenes in Apocalypse Now — Captain Willard alone in his hotel room — was entirely unscripted. Martin Sheen, genuinely drunk, told the crew to just let the cameras roll. What followed was real: he punched an actual mirror, cutting his thumb, then broke down sobbing and attempted to attack director Francis Ford Coppola. The crew wanted to stop filming but Sheen insisted they keep going, later revealing he was battling a drinking problem and used the scene to confront his own inner demons. The moment was disclosed years later in a conversation between Sheen and Coppola, and is visible in the Redux version of the film

The Most Moving Tribute to Love and Courage. Joey “Exile” gave one of the most truthful, powerful, touching, raw, and authentic tributes to his beloved wife, Eva, who was killed by russians in a triple-tap attack while she was saving lives. Listen to this. And share it with your friends. The world needs to see the bravery and the pain of the people defending Ukraine. People need to understand what these medics and defenders sacrifice for all of us. This is love. This is courage. This is a deep commitment to others. This is why we stand with Ukraine. $In 2013, 15 year old Leonie Harm was out for her morning run and hit by a car leaving her with brain injuries, bone fractures, and a collapsed lung. She was put into an induced coma and given a 1% chance of survival by paramedics at the scene. But she made a full recovery and went on to be one of the best amateurs in the world. Today, she just made birdie on her last two holes to shoot a final round 69 and win her maiden title on the LET at the Amundi German Masters in front of her home fans. What an incredible story. This scene in Pretty Woman wasn’t scripted. Julia Roberts was feeling tired on set, so director Garry Marshall told Richard Gere to snap the box shut as a playful surprise. Her reaction was completely real—and it ended up becoming one of the film’s most iconic moments.

CLOSE QUARTERS. ONE GRENADE. PURE GUTS. 🇮🇳 The story of Captain Varma Jayesh Rajesh It was September 2017. The valley of Kashmir. A Cordons & Search Operation (CASO) turned into a sudden firefight. This is the story of how one officer from the 44 Rashtriya Rifles (Rajput Regiment) refused to back down, even when bleeding. The Ambush 🚨 Captain Varma Jayesh Rajesh was leading his team to lay a cordon when terrorists opened fire. In the chaos of the initial burst, the officer didn't seek cover; he sought dominance. Close Quarters Combat ⚔️ With total disregard for his own safety, Captain Varma maneuvered into the open. In a close-quarter gunfight that followed, he eliminated one terrorist instantly. But the battle wasn't over. A third terrorist retreated into a cluster of houses, turning the area into a fortress. The Crawl of Courage 🦵🩸 To neutralize the hidden threat, the Captain had to get close. Very close. He began to crawl toward the target house under a heavy volume of fire. During this maneuver, a splinter tore into his right leg. Most men would stop. He didn't. Most men would call for a medic. He called for a grenade. The Final Strike 💣 Bleeding and under fire, he crawled within striking distance and lobbed a grenade with precision, neutralizing the final terrorist. Leadership Beyond Pain 🫡 The most defining moment wasn't the kill; it was the aftermath. Despite the injury in his leg, Captain Varma refused evacuation. He stayed on the ground, leading his men until the operation was fully secured. The Recognition 🏅 For his indomitable courage, tactical acumen, and refusal to abandon his post in the face of death, Captain Varma Jayesh Rajesh was awarded the Shaurya Chakra. You’ve been really pressed on my original post but lets talk about it. I didn’t just make up the notion that Peggy was based on Cynthia glass. This has been discussed by Jewish commentators for over a decade. They actively uplifted a character who was based off if a Nasi rather than uplift a black character. This is not a misogynist view point. This was actively sitting down and listening to the takes of Jewish people and looking at the evidence. You cannot deny that since endgame, Peggy has had more appearances and more support at the “Captain” based character than Sam. It’s been appalling and stacks on top of the active sabotage of Sam as a character.

What was the role of the British Army in Northern Ireland? One of bravery, of sacrifice and of defending so many in the most difficult of times. What an example this evening as we marked the 55th Anniversary of the murder of Captain David Stewardson, aged 29 of the Royal Army Ordnance Corps by terrorists on the 9th September 1971 Captain Stewardson was a bomb disposal team member and was killed by an IRA terrorist bomb, he was attempting to defuse the bomb when it exploded outside Castlerobin Orange hall. Capt Stewardson had been in Northern Ireland for only 10 days. As Capt. Stewardson tried to cut into the package, the bomb exploded. This type of bomb was a new development and was christened by the bomb disposal teams as a "Castlerobin". Capt Stewardson wasn’t the only bomb disposal solider killed - there were 23 during Operation Banner, all killed trying to protect others. We should always remember their sacrifice, and never allow it to be besmirched.

Captain Cosmic, Bay Area superhero. Captain Cosmic was a late-afternoon weekday show that aired on KTVU from September 1977 to January 1980. It was created and hosted by Bob Wilkins, who was also the creator and host of Creature Features, a late-night horror movie program that ran in the Bay Area from 1971 to 1984. In many ways, Captain Cosmic was a companion show to Creature Features, just aimed at a younger audience. The show primarily featured serials starring Japanese superheroes, including Ultraman, Spectreman, Star Blazers, Godzilla, Johnny Sokko and His Flying Robot, Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, and the original Flash Gordon serials. Within three weeks of its debut, Captain Cosmic became the number one kids' show in the Bay Area. If you want to go check out Captain Cosmic's sidekick, Wonder Robot 2T2, and see it in person, it currently resides at Atlantis Fantasyworld in Santa Cruz. source footage 🎥: KTVU
