One of my core childhood memories is watching the 2003 Emeril Halloween special in a Maui hotel room because I was too sunburned to go outside. I ate the bag of macadamia nuts next to the coffee maker and they added like 40 dollars to the hotel bill.

So good. Used to watch Emeril Live every night back in college. I pretty much learned to cook watching Food Network back in the day, when their shows actually teached people how to cook.

The one of adding a beer and the first guy they cut to has never considered that in his lineage it’s like he discovered fire.

i went to a recording of this show with my parents when i was little and it was actually a completely miserable experience for a lot of reasons and led to my father disowning the entire emeril lagasse fandom

@yc my mom LOVED emeril. introduced us to a lot of "rare" ingredients back in the day too, i remember us all going to the grocery store in like 98 after he made a fennel dish and the produce manager looked at us like we had 3 heads when we asked if he had any

emeril’s old show energy with the crowd losing it over garlic is actually unmatched

He has a show now that's incredibly chill, just him and anywhere from 1-3 others in a more intimate kitchen setting and he's still so fucking charismatic, it's insane
