This whole video is bullshit. I’ve been to Mexico 20 times and never had any problems. Banks generally allow a max of $500 withdrawals a day regardless of where. Also banks in Canada are privately owned businesses. They’re regulated by the government same as banks the world over.

I moved to Sweden in 2003 is an international student and I came back in 2008 I travelled back-and-forth and I always had to notify my bank where I’m going That is also included many many travels since then Absolute rage bait And it’s not even Canada it has been around for your own protection for many many years If you do not notify a bank and you try to take a large amount of money in a different country, they will flag it and they will hold it until you call them and once you confirm, they will allow you to use your card again

I remortgaged to pay off credit card at bmo.. after paying it off they froze my card and said it’s because they needed to know how I got the money.. I told them they are idiots, the money was a direct transfer from another bank, not even a cash payment.

I walked in to my credit union last week and got a cashier’s check for almost $50k. Money had to be moved from hi interest accounts to my checking account and that was the most difficult part (only took a minute) Absolutely no issues getting my money from my credit union.
