she posted an update. there was a missing cat sign just outside at the complex and the cat belonged to the neighboring unit. the running theory is that the cat slipped into the apartment unnoticed while the previous tenants were moving.

This boy right here was left in an apartment for three weeks. When he wants to get out of a room and the door is shut he stands there pushing on it with his paws, like he must have done every day of that three weeks, until one day when it finally opened.

Sadly we see this all the time. And real estate agents see it all the time. And it’s the reason we hate people too. 🤬

Please God tell my you called the cops on these bastards? Abandoning a pet is a crime in all 50 states. I want their asses to fry in jail!

At least the cat was re-homed. Previous owners are trash for abandoning the poor thing.

The last house we bought, we saw this old, decrepit cat in the yard. Didn't think anything about it. About a week later, this cat crawled to my glass door, half dead. Hubs ran to store to get cat food. Next day, took her to the vet. She was so sick, she had worms in her eyes. Got her all spiffed up and healthy and kept her. Then found out, the previous owners tried to starve her so she would leave. This was her home! About a year later, I hired a house cleaner who was their former housekeeper and she told me the cat's name and story. She lived another 10 yrs!

Years ago, a coworker's neighbors had been evicted and abandoned their poor declawed cat outside to fend for herself. She was so scabby from being attacked by strays that the fur on the back of her neck never grew back. I had her 19 years, and she had terrible separation anxiety.

People who leave their pets, allowing them to starve to death in fear, confusion, and loneliness deserve the same.

Piece of shit people. Can’t even take an hour out of their day to run it to a local shelter/humane society. They just leave it with no food or water to die or let someone else deal with it. Thankfully, for the cat the cleaning lady seems to be a perfect person for this situation

The big shitty is encroaching on my once small farm town. My parents have 7 dogs, my wife and I have 12. was a dumped dog that showed up. Can't wait to catch one of these pieces of shit in the act.

It used to break my heart to walk into an empty apartment and find pets that had been abandoned by their owners who just moved out. We were required to call animal control to pick them up, but I did everything I could to find them homes before they showed up. I even took several of them home myself over the years. I even kept a beautiful Persian cat I found. Had him for 10 years.

My buddy had a neighbor who moved and left two cats. He still has one of them. I'm not a fan of cats, but people are fucked up.

Don't tell the landlord. They'll charge you pet deposit and pet rent.

Even though I get allergies sometimes from cats, cats are really cool and mellow animals. Most of the time, they like me. I respect them and they respect me. She should definitely keep the cat though. I see it as a blessing and a good sign.

She was a tiny puppy in her kennel left in an abandoned apt. @45wonyuge @sweetmtnchick Blue Skies Animal Rescue found her and I was able to adopt her. Laws need to be more harsh towards any animal neglect and abuse.

Immediate deportation. If we started deporting people for not just being in the country illegally, but ALSO for degenerate behavior (such as this scenario) then eventually we’d have a country full of normal people who know how to act right.

Got this cat in a similar way. Blind and declawed. Owners left her outside their condo after they moved. The sweetest little creature.

My old roommate stopped taking care of his cat when he got a dog, because "he didn't see her anymore and forgot about her.". When he moved out, he left her behind. She's mine now and currently meowing through the house for more food even though I fed that fat cat 15 minutes ago

I adopted a cat that was left behind in an apartment building in The Bronx. Poor guy was a little messed up from it for a while, but he was a sweet cat his whole life.

i was looking at a house and the relator told me "ya the owner has about 45 cats and 5 dogs, he will be taking the dogs but not the cats" and i was like!?!?!?!? THE FUCK?? he's just going to leave 45 cats for whoever buys the house!!!!!!

Counter-observation. That flat is immaculate. It's clearly went through a clean and repair from joiners, and decorators, if not also plumbers and electricians, depending. They've left the doors and or windows open and you've just found a neighbours cat who got in unexpectedly.

When I was stationed in Germany (US Army), I learned that Germans don’t like to let us adopt pets. Because Americans commonly will just abandon them when they leave Germany.
