Imagine pranking your kid by giving them a pair of these and watching them struggle on the slide

What kind of third world shithole doesnt have fall arrest laws for all workers at height? Oh, right.

In the civilized world we use a harness…

That is a great design! Back when I was young and stupid my job was to carry bundles of shingle up the ladder to the roofers. Once I slipped and slid all the way to the end of the roof. As my legs went off the roof my hands grabbed an old gutter. The gutter is held in by long nails. Once I was fully suspended the nails started to pull from the building. My roofer buddies were able to climb down from the ladder on the other side of the house and rescue me. Forty foot drop onto concrete would have been fatal.

いいね❗️ でもこれだけでは 命預けられない 日本ではこれじゃないと 工事してはダメなレベル🙅

as a roofer, I use an old piece of foam from a couch cushion on metal roofs.

Now you’re stuck on a roof with a severe wedgie

Found it ! @grok create a futuristic drone resting indoors on the floor.

@Arcfunmi

Clever idea but unnecessary if roofers actually followed OSHA law - fall protection consisting of barriers or a harness with a lifeline. Those are the rules!

Uh... Safety Harness? Why not use one of them???

Do you have any that don't make you look like Steve fucking Irwin?

Available here

Which kind of shithole doesn't use life lines on roof?

My mom used to buy me those pants in elementary school.

Cool, but also should wear a harness when you’re up there

What a fantastic idea. Curious how expensive they would be and how they fare after a few washes.

Or you could just wear safety equipment.

They may save your life, but they will definitely give you the worst wedgie and nad crush possible.

Why not make that into shoe covers and knee covers?

I wonder what the angle of the roof is? just USA or other countries? Average roof pitch for residential buildings typically ranges between 30° and 45°, with 35° being the optimum.

Just remove your pants I feel the roof-to-skin contact has the best grip

Making this into an iron on application for the clothes we already wear would be game changing!!!

Safety harnesses

Maybe some collective fall protection would be in order?

Let's promote a product using the 2 inbreds from YouTube that build shit bag houses with no shoes on and shoot nails through their hands.

@WDE2011 Non slip skivies!!! Roofers nothing these are for boat guys.

Scaffolding?

First of all... If you're wearing the proper shoes on a metal roof you're not going to slide, as long as it's not more than a 6/12 pitch. Anything more than that you should have a harness. Second, if you're on a shingle roof you're not gonna slide. And again... More than 6/12 pitch use Jack's and boards or harness. This I'd dumb, I like the ingenuity but it's overall pointless.

Must get a pair for @Paul31463933143 as we don't want him to slide off a roof and land in an open wheelie bin.

Otherwise known as the Ball Crusher!

Found it👇

Passive protection built into the design beats harnesses because workers always skip gear when possible.

Will it still hold on wet metal tho?

Next thing to figure out is how to make the pants shoot out web

Nuts be like…
