Yup. I made a snowball and lighted it up, no melting at all. Got it black on the exposed surface. But no melting. took almost an hour indoors for it to melt. Did you look at faucet water? Collect first and you’ll see high turbidity. Too cloudy. And it’s not bubbles.🧐😖

That first burn lacked oxygen creating soot I run O/A torches everyday, once you added more oxygen it definitely responded normal. I burn snow off equipment pretty regularly and thought this looked about right. I speculate you guys are from Georgia and don’t get much snow.

Try putting it in a pot or in hot water. But no, you don’t want to use your head so you burn it.

I'm a certified AWS ASME Structural & 6G Pipe welder That is just soot The snow is dissipating the heat & trapping the soot from the acetylene If you want to know what's in the snow send it off to a lab & have it tested This is just silly to be honest

Wisconsin here. I made a loose snowball about 4" diameter and brought it in the house. It took close to 2 hours to melt and I didn't pack it tight. House temp is 68. Took a lighter to it & got scorch marks but it didn't melt.

When’s last time anyone done pH test on their rain water? I’ve collected in a sanatized bucket straight from sky. I use a calibrated bluelab ph pen. I’m hitting 10-10.5 🤔

Acetylene burns dirty, lot of suet without a good mix of O2. That is suit from the gas. The same suet you see on the roof.

I’m in VA, and it’s dry and like sweeping sugar off of my deck. Totally dry and granular. Never seen grainy dry snow like this before.

Perfectly normal. Snow is not exactly ice. It has a lot of air pockets, so it acts as an insulation, like Goose Downs in your Parka. How do you think Igloos stand with fire inside for days? The American education system is broken. Guys, just read a book or two. Actual books.
