This solo indie dev is making an open-world wolf survival game where when your wolf dies, you continue playing as one of your offspring. - Build your pack and raise pups - Survive, hunt and explore - Game over only when your entire bloodline goes extinct Would you play this?

Knew it reminded me of something, nostalgia much

i didn't include the name of the game as the dev has stated he is brainstorming more name ideas. you can follow the dev on reddit, though!

SOLO INDIE DEV, I WAS AN AVID WOLFQUEST PLAYER. IF YOU SOMEHOW SEE THIS, GET IN TOUCH.

I can only imagine myself immediately going back for revenge and losing my entire family tree smh

lol

The best 'wolf simulator' was Wolf from Sanctuary Woods in 1994. The soundtrack and ambience was so good, and the CD was in redbook audio. I still have the game too. The sound never worked when I tried to emulate it though :/

Isnt this just wolfquest

Hi Joe thanks a lot for the promotion this is me actually :D

The DEV IS HERE!!!!

Very cool concept. This reminds me vaguely of Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey. A game which activated some primal fear in me that made me terrified and ragequit after watching a snake drop out of a tree and two sabretooth tigers attack and eat my barrel of monkeys. 10/10

So like, wolfquest but only with unity store assets and slightly worse.

But is it scientifically accurate? (- a Wolfquest player since 2012)

Got goosebumps from the concept alone! My 9yo ADORES this - her eyes grew as big as teacup plates when I told her the basic idea! 👀🤩😆

is it better than Wolfquest? 🤨

One bad decision and your entire bloodline is gone, no pressure.

I think I would cry every time my wolf died

So if you’re gay you lose the game? Sign me up.

There was a game similar to this in the 90s where you played as a wolf on a simulated forest and I can’t for the life of me remember the game name but it reminds me of this a lot

Kinda reminds me of Ancestors.

wolf quest 3.0!! back to our roots gng

Seems legit. I'll bite. Heh heh...get it? I'll bite? Because it's a wolf game?

the furries are gonna go wild with this game

Probably not but I think this game's success would hinge on how complex the environment, fauna, and survival is; maybe how smell is depicted too, since that would be a major point in hunting during scarcity and also for avoiding hostile creatures (and humans too of course).

Got to be called Lupus 🙏🏻🐺

@MrLemur_Arts Want 💛💙

@Z0Error it’s time

I found a game for @ShibiCottonbum 👀

Yes! This reminds me of Wolf quest!

@RakanHowls I’m getting Warriors vibes with this game, but with wolves instead.

Looking very interesting, with all those beautiful scenaries and plot.

every AAA pitch dies on 'who's the marketable protagonist' solo dev shipped a game where the protagonist is whatever the bloodline produces next

Interesting concept but I like to play a humanoid character. I have zero interest in playing an entire game as an animal.

@kibawoo

This was a game way back in the 90s. It was amazing.

@charborgg

ok but the bloodline extinction mechanic is genuinely so clever

just play wolf quest
