Technically VAR got the call right but didn't understand the on field decision & issued the wrong instruction. More of a comms problem than a VAR one but favoured us. That was updated immediately afterwards with additional clarification in VAR comms about the calls made on field.

The media reaction to this was embarrassing. People calling for the game to be replayed. We’ve hardly had a decision go our way since.

We’ve been paying for it ever since.

The Liverpool uproar worked tho, got every decision their way from that point.

The thing with this was, VAR ruled it was inside, the confusion which led to the error was that VAR thought the ref had ruled it a goal not offside.

The problem with this is that I’ve still to this day not seen a conclusive freeze frame of exactly when Salah released the ball. In this video you can’t see and it’s at an angle anyway.

But the entire game ref was playing against us giving Pool lot of cheeky faults and strange decitions, he was awful for everyone
