That is a normal dress code. In every restaurant I’ve worked in it has always been a black shirt and black jeans. Non slip shoes.

If they were the best baristas in the universe, sure buck the system open your own place, wear what you want. Otherwise consider yourself practically unemployable, shut your gob and get to work.
