Has he used Free Speech to advocate for the Uyghurs? Has he called Xi a brutal dictator? Commented on the religious riots that Modi instigated?) Yes, there are bad actors deliberately trying to make him look worse, and the Biden administration’s coddling of the UAW at Tesla’s expense is ridiculous. But lately he makes the job of the Elon-bashers far too easy. That’s not him being bold and badass; It’s him being self-indulgent, sanctimonious, foolish and often astoundingly ignorant. Elon has got a big microphone; he should be more responsible about how he uses it. He’s a smart guy with many awesome and admirable talents, but lately he’s sounding about as thoughtful as “Ye” and as intellectually honest as MTG.
