I lnow the context behind her statement but I still think the interviewer was just like “yep our time is over thank you very much” which is pretty much everybodys feelings around this things people are just doing their jobs

The interviewer doesn't sound like a native English speaker. If you don't pick up the dry sarcasm or know what "philanthropy' means, it sounds like Selena is trying to end the interview, which is what the interviewer hastily does

Unpopular opinion but she was hoping to get some “omg that’s great” for the philanthropy stuff and get the praise for it. Or, the other side, she just wanted them to ask follow up questions to feel more genuine

i just felt like selena is rlly passionate about the philanthropy thing, and she randomly got cut off and it offended her bc she wanted to keep talking and show she is not just a "pop star", thats why it triggered her and it reminded her of disney.

I think she wanted her to ask more questions to keep the conversation going, but she kinda felt embarrassed and awkward because the interviewer ended the interview right away. I think there was just a misunderstanding because of the language barrier.

I was a journalist once and based on my experience, in certain interviews, they have limited time to ask questions, or a limited number of questions they're allowed to ask within that usually short timeframe. I remember being told "one last question" when I had 10 more to ask
