This sums it up well. Karpathy's careful rhythm – context analysis, planning, incremental steps – is fundamental to Cline's design. We believe this is the correct approach to AI coding.

So basically regular programming but faster?

@cursor_ai please copy planning mode from here!

Do you think you will be able to make context management more transparent in the future? Because every time I try the a model in Cline, Cursor, Copilot, or any other tool, copying and pasting my code into a chat with the same model, and writing exactly what I want in the prompt, gives significantly better results. I think in each and every one of these tools, models get distracted by a ton of irrelevant instructions and information. And a lot of times, models don't even need to know anything about the project or tools at all. They only need to read a couple of files from the codebase. I ended up using the Claude desktop app with an MCP server running in a dev container that gives it access to the shell. And so far, it beats every tool I have tried. (I didn't even realise until recently that I had used the 'agent mode' since the announcement of the MCP protocol.)

Spot on.

you guys totally have the right approach. i've used all of the ai coding tools available and nothing works as well and reliably as cline.
