The drilling of a small hole would solve the problem immediately for this season and then could be replaced with a box for next year. If you see this happening, please try to explain as some homeowners are quick to help.

Why is there so much hatred and lack of empathy for wildlife?! I'm sick of it We've taken over their habitats and have the nerve to block them access to our homes. I wouldn't have a problem with them nesting in my roof. Some people are so pathetic. 🤬

unfortunately the reason why i stated they dont care is because several people have explained the problem and the solution. this happens often and negotiations are very sensitive and dont always work.

I'm so glad that in Germany it's illegal to close these and if you do so you have to replace them with a box immediately. To see this is sooo so sad! I hope they'll find something close they can use. It's not too late to offer them a box close by now. If some neighbours cared...?

I need to replace the eaves in my roof but will be waiting till autumn as we have three pairs that come every summer. They fly around the garden in celebration when they arrive & find their nests from last year. It's a truly amazing sight!
