Forget UPL, it's the Devin's simple right hand turn that FSD needs to master first. I am blown away that software as good as FSD can make mistakes as simple but devastating as this. This is the second time in less than two weeks that FSD has tried to pull infront of a vehicle on a VERY SIMPLE right hand turn. The car drove pretty much flawlessly all day today (3~ hours of driving) but it ends the day with a move like this and it just takes all the confidence I have with FSD away in a simple move. I understand that the version of FSD we have today is not what will be used in Austin in June, but the fact that FSD is making decisions like this and 'full autonomy' is less than 3 months away - it's a bit concerning to me. Amazing V14.3.4 clip that joel just sent me and asked me to share from his M3P. What I love most about this clip is that FSD understands what needs to happen and reacts BEFORE the lead car even throws it in reverse. This is such a critical indicator that FSD isn’t just reacting to objects in its path, but actually understands what happens next before it even needs to start backing up to clear the dodge ram. This is one of my favorite edge cases in a minute. FSD IS THE TRUTH

Two police officers approached me in Yosemite today and told me I “cannot use FSD” because, according to them, there have been “many accidents” involving it. I highly doubt either of them has spent hundreds of hours using the latest version, bc this is what FSD v14.3.6 was doing for me… smoothly guiding my Cybertruck through Yosemite’s winding roads, slowing before sharp curves, staying centered in its lane and handling the entire drive while I enjoyed the scenery and ready to take over. I told them that I trust this technology to drive me more than I trust myself to manually drive. Of course no technology is accident-free… but the real question is how often accidents happen compared to normal human driving. And according to Tesla’s latest reported safety data, vehicles using FSD (Supervised) travel roughly 7x farther between major collisions than the U.S. average. FSD is still supervised, and the driver remains responsible at all times… but saying the technology is unsafe simply bc accidents have happened ignores the rate, the data and how quickly the system continues to improve. So I gave them both the middle finger and continued my trip on Tesla FSD.

People are so hung-up on FSD Unsupervised that they're ignorning the fact that we have self-driving cars today. Tesla FSD is not perfect - but it is incredibly good, and when you put it up against every other ADAS here in North America it is undeniably how far ahead Tesla is at the moment. I think it's fair to talk about the issues that exist today with FSD - but I also think there are some people who cannot take the time to appreciate what FSD is actually capable of... When I got my car two years ago I had no idea that the technology existed for a car to be able to stop itself at a stop sign - that is how unaware the general public is of FSD.

FSD V14.1.4 | 37 Minute Drive with the push of a button Everyday that I am out on the road I drive past all the other cars and I wonder how many of them realize what Tesla has accomplished already with FSD. Given that so many Tesla owners don't even know about FSD I have to assume the majority of other people on the road also do not know. I'm not sure what the answer is, but somehow the public needs to be made aware of what's happening here - at this point it's undeniably good and more people need to try it out and experience it for themselves. Who all is enjoying V14 so far?

FSD V14.3.6 ➡️ 14.3.7 First hour review: Similar to every release since 14.2, I pressed the button and sat there for an hour while FSD drove me everywhere across every type of road. Interventions don’t happen outside of parking lots anymore. I can’t remember when I had to take over on the road. FSD is a work of art. On the short list of greatest consumer products in human history.

FSD V14.3.5 left lane camping This really needs to get fixed - this driving behaviour really agitates other people on the road, and there’s just no reason for FSD to drive this way. Let me know if you disagree - but I don’t see a world where this style of driving is correct.

Tesla FSD gives this person the chance to get behind the wheel for the first time in 10 years! But this is EXTREMELY IRRESPONSIBLE, it’s called FSD (Supervised) for a reason because the driver needs to be able to take over in case of an emergency. Yes, the software is great, but it’s not fully ready for hands free and eyes off the road driving yet…

Another moment of FSD chills. If you aren’t using FSD daily but want to understand what makes it so special and mind-blowing, watch this entire clip. V14.2 approaches a cyclist on a winding, rural back road with blind turn after blind turn. For nearly 2 minutes, FSD patiently follows the cyclist, keeping a safe distance as we navigate blind bend after blind bend. When FSD finally has enough visibility distance, it hits the accelerator and executes the pass. This is exactly how I would’ve handled this. The moment it passed is the exact moment I would’ve passed. All prior opportunities were too risky due to lack of distance visibility. It is in these moments where subtle, but complex intelligence emerges. It didn’t used to be like this. We’ve watched this level of intelligence emerge over time. This is why using FSD is the ultimate signal for what Tesla is. It is how you can realize that Tesla made the right decision going all in on intelligence over sensor bloat.
