This Thunder defense is so absurd. Almost stole the inbound the play before this one. Incredible point of attack defense. Any time the ball breaks the 3-point line, it's a sea of bodies. Perfect peel switching on drives when they do get beat.

One of the reasons why a Josh/Coby backcourt won’t work long term. I love both players, but in today’s NBA, unless you have Mobley & Allen behind you, a successful defense needs at least one point-of-attack defender.

Memphis doesn't have a capable pg on the floor. Their coach doesn't have the experience needed for the playoffs. And they are very much missing the services of Brandon Clarke. None of that matters against this def juggernaut. Unless they can Kobayashi maru this, it's over

Jordan Bulls did this when they were younger and strong. Over the years, they relied on offense and defense suffered but the would defend a very large area. Most teams couldn’t get past their wing defenders. Their centers were not much but they didn’t have to be that strong

Houston is the #1 Scoring Defense in CBB the last 5 years & this year. #2: North Texas! No Middle Principles. They do a great job of ball pressure & forcing Baseline without blow by's. Any Post Catch/BL Drive, they take away Middle & trap with the Goalie. High Hands & Aggressive! They do a great job of "cracking back" on anyone at the rim and playing 2 on the Weak Side then rotating. P&R Defense: Weak in the Middle 1/3, Ice on the Sides. Under on DHO's then Ice on Re-Screen's. Bigs at the level and Guards dictate on the hip to 1. Not get screened & 2. Force them to the direction they want! North Texas is ELITE at one pass away swiping at the ball. Any dribble penetration they are going to swipe aggressive than get into the passing lane. They do a great job of using this to stop dribble penetration and get TO's on drives. Fun defense to watch. They fly around, play hard and are active at all times. Ross Hodge is an elite defensive Coach!

I was trying to get everybody just to play cover 3 base defense so we could throw the ball exactly where. If you already know where the spots are gonna be open on the field you'll be able to take your shots and take advantage of the defense. So when they overload the strong side, then we run the ball weak. When they overload the backside, then we run the ball strong. Just kind of dictate where the ball's already gonna go before the play starts."
