Today, I joined the community in Gasabo District, Rutunga Sector, Kigabiro Cell, Rukerereza Village for Umuganda. Together, we gathered in recognition of World Water Day, International Day of Forests, and World Meteorological Day important moments that remind us how much we depend on nature every single day. One of the main activities was tree planting. As I placed a young tree into the soil, It reminded me that every tree we plant is a promise to protect our land, to preserve our water, and to leave something better for the next generation. Planting trees should not be seen as a one-day ! It is something each of us should take part in, wherever we are. Because when we plant a tree, we are growing hope, protecting life, and investing in our future. #Umuganda #PlantATree

Thank you all for joining us today in our campaign to clean and green Kampala. Kampala belongs to all of us, and it is our shared responsibility to keep our city clean, green, and beautiful. The resources we use to maintain our city come from taxpayers’ contributions. Therefore, anyone who destroys public facilities is damaging property that belongs to every citizen. Let us take pride in our city. Together, we can build a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Kampala for today and for future generations. Love your city. Keep Kampala clean 📱🎥

Many have said that the differences and divisions in our world are too great for us to come together for the common good. But the Summit of the Future showed that with a spirit of dialogue and compromise, we can join forces to steer our world to a more sustainable path. As this year’s #UNGA activities wind down, we must remember that this is not the end. It is in all our interests to choose the future we want and to guide our world towards it. The journey continues. Let’s keep going.

Department of Housing Secretary Scott Turner says American needs to get back to our founding principles “To pray together, to pray for each other, and to pray for our nation — This nation was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. And we have a president now that understands not only the power of prayer, but the importance of people in America praying and giving back to our foundation. And so I'm honored to just be a part of it, that every single week that you can get together with 10 people, and pray together. Think about it. We have a million people a week praying for our country. Mountains move when the people of God pray. You know, there's a scripture in the Bible and it says, God can bring the high places low and make the rough places smooth and that he delights in the prayer of his people. And so I believe that as Americans under President Trump's leadership, that as we pray together, that we'll see families come back together. We'll see people that are hurting and lost to come to a true knowledge of Jesus Christ. We'll see sons return to their fathers, daughters return to their mothers. We'll see people who have been fighting and combating in chaos come back together in like-mindedness. We may not always agree, but through the power of prayer, I believe that even our enemies will be at peace with us as we serve and honor God. And so this is an important initiative, and I believe it will transform our country.”

Today at the Eko Amore Gardens in Lekki, we marked the 2026 Tree Planting Day with a powerful demonstration of our collective commitment to a greener and more climate resilient Lagos. I had the honour of welcoming His Excellency Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu , ably represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin, along with the wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs Oluremi Hamzat, our Tree Champions, and community leaders. The theme for this year, “Trees for Lagos: Our City, Our Responsibility,” speaks directly to the fact that environmental stewardship is a duty we all share. Tree planting is not a ceremonial event, it is a strategic environmental intervention and one of the simplest, most effective nature based solutions to combat extreme weather, flooding, biodiversity loss, and rising temperatures. The Governor charged all Lagosians to not only plant trees but to nurture them to maturity, and he set a clear target of 20,000 trees for this year. As of June 30, we had already planted 13,401 trees representing 67 percent of that target, and a new planting season has now commenced across all 57 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas, running throughout the rainy season until October. I am pleased to announce that every LGA and LCDA Chairman has been designated as a Tree Custodian, responsible for nurturing and monitoring the trees planted in their jurisdictions for a minimum of 12 months to ensure survival. The Governor also unveiled the 20 Lagos Tree Champions, outstanding individuals and organisations whose contributions are advancing the greening of our State. I urge every resident to obtain free tree seedlings from LASPARK’s Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency - LASPARK nurseries, plant in your homes, schools, offices and communities, and nurture them. We are not just planting trees, we are planting hope, health, and a lasting legacy for generations to come. This is how we build a #CleanerLagos and a truly #GreaterLagos.

🎉 HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, BUZSTOPBOYS! 💚🌍 On July 5, 2023, Buzstopboys was founded with one mission: to prove that real change begins when ordinary people choose to act. Today, we celebrate another year of turning purpose into action, cleaning our streets, restoring polluted spaces, protecting water bodies, and inspiring communities to see waste not as someone else's problem, but as everyone's responsibility. Every cleanup, every volunteer, every partnership, and every life we've touched is a reminder that one idea can grow into a movement capable of transforming communities. To our volunteers, partners, supporters, and everyone who has believed in our vision from day one, thank you. Your dedication has fueled every milestone we've achieved. As we mark this anniversary, we renew our commitment to building a Ghana where clean environments are the norm, not the exception; where nature is respected, and where future generations inherit a healthier planet. This is more than an anniversary. It is a celebration of purpose, resilience, and collective action.

Education is one of the most crucial pillars of our THEMES+ agenda. It is not just a priority for our administration, it is a passion of mine. Education lays the foundation for the future of our children and, ultimately, the growth and development of our society. That’s why we are committed to renovating and reconstructing our schools to meet global standards. We want our educational institutions to be places where children can thrive, learn, and be inspired. Every child deserves access to a conducive learning environment, equipped with the necessary resources to help them excel academically and personally. Together, we are building a brighter future for the next generation, and I am excited to see our children flourish in an environment that encourages learning and innovation.

On Poila Boishakh, I offered my prayers at Kalighat, seeking strength, clarity, and resolve for the path ahead. In the divine presence of Maa Kali, I prayed not just for personal strength, but for the well-being of every citizen of Bengal, for peace, dignity, and unity to prevail across our land. This sacred moment is a reminder that our journey is not merely political; it is a responsibility towards protecting harmony, upholding justice, and safeguarding the rights of our people. There are forces that seek to disturb this balance, to divide and weaken the social fabric of Bengal. But with the blessings of Maa Kali, and with faith in the people, we will stand firm against every such attempt. We will not allow hatred to overshadow harmony, nor vested interests to derail Bengal’s progress. This is a fight for truth. A fight for the rights and dignity of every Bengali. A fight to ensure that the future of our state remains secure, inclusive, and just. With Maa Kali’s blessings guiding us, we will continue this journey with even greater determination and strength. Joy Maa Kali!
