To those who are confused. 1. The water is still too cloudy- not washed enough 2. The hot water was unnecessary 3. The salt was way too much and who adds salt to rice anyway 4. Drinking the water with spoon to check the salt 🤢

Fun fact theres many ways to cook rice

No need to apologize for anything. People are allowed to cook their food any way they like. Asians didn’t invent rice.

I would use less water, but other than that they did nothing wrong. Anyone who says that's too much salt doesn't know how to cook.

Real Gs know the finger dip trick for measuring rice water.

Do yourself a favour.

Dad of the year 😂😂

Perfect timing 🔥

This foolproof, hassle-free way to cook rice will give you that light, fluffy texture you'll love. Perfect for a homemade curry night in tonight! 😋

I'm Japanese and I don't think it's necessary to add oil or salt, but I think this cooking method is not bad either.

Asians don’t get offended that easily. U do u. Im offended that u think I’d be offended.

Kindness is priceless ❤️

That psychotic bitch was using a metal fork in a Teflon coated pot.

So easy sandwich. You can also use something else instead of meat.

Only thing that offends is using metal on non stick pans...

As an Asian, I’m not offended. I just find this to be funny as to how stupid some people can be 🤣

The ocean is endangered by a single household here

Washing rice is a third world thing. All rice in the US is cleaned before market.

This is how my Eastern European mom has made rice her whole life. She uses butter instead of oil though. Damn good rice. Very fluffy and flavorful.

That's the right way to do it (maybe a little too much water for my tastes) It tastes so much better than how asians do it, which is bland as hell.

Sorry, but I really don't care who I offend by making rice the way I prefer them in my own kitchen.

Why are they offended?

Rice is one of the easiest things in the world to cook Rice Water (double the amount of rice) Chunk of butter Bring to boil Reduce to simmer and cover Come back in 20 minutes

Why? Cooking rice is racism?

Why would it be offensive? I’m asking as an Asian

You don’t need to wash your rice

Rage bait - this does not offend Asians

The Persian way is very different. 1- Rinse a cup of rice and drain. 2- Fill a large pot w water and dash of salt and bring to boil. 3- Add rinsed rice to boiling water ( like you do as if you are cooking spaghetti). 4- Bring to a boil, then immediately drain rinse w cold water, drain well. 5- Cover bottom of pot w cooking or olive oil. 6-Turn heat on high. 7-Add rice carefully w spatula - coating bottom of pan and building a type of pyramid shape. 8-Reduce heat to very low, cover preferably w 1 paper towel under the lid, for 1 hour.

Wow. Not even close. No self respecting Asian would EVER cook rice with salt. Also, that's WAAYYYY too much water. Don't even get me started on the oil...OIL? What?

Lot of ways to cook rice. Do whatever way you prefer. Washing is traditional, but that comes from the time when rice was dirtier. Never heard of anyone using hot water, oil or a rounded teaspoon of salt. I like Kokuho Rose rice, and use an automatic cooker. Simple.

I use a pot as well, saves on counter space, however I find 1:1 rice to water ratio gives me the proper texture that I am looking for with the jasmine rice. Low heat 20 mins, take off heat with lid still on and let sit for another 10 mins. Open lid and fluff. Perfect every time.

what's with the oil?

Meh. If you don't eat rice regularly, cook it on the stove. If you do eat rice semi-regularly, get a cheapo rice cooker. If you eat rice every day, get a Zojirushi rice cooker.
