I voted today by dropping off my mail-in ballot at the Luzerne County Courthouse. The last day to request a mail-in ballot is October 28th, and all ballots must be returned by 8 p.m. on November 4th. Today, I proudly voted for: Maria Battista – Superior Court Matt Wolford – Commonwealth Court Tom Mosca – Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas Walter Griffith – Luzerne County Controller John Lombardo, Brian Thornton, Stephen Urban, Jackie Scarcella, and Greg Wolovich – Luzerne County Council I also voted NO on all five judicial retention questions for the Supreme, Superior, and Commonwealth Courts. Don’t wait, if there’s even a 1% chance you might not make it to the polls on Election Day, vote early! Make your plan, return your ballot on time, and make sure your vote counts.

Nobody cares what Sussan Ley says. It really is that simple. For the past week, members of the coalition and the mainstream media condemned the idea of people marching for Australia. Marching to send a strong message to Canberra that our immigration levels are too high, which they really are. Yet the Australian people came out in force. A peaceful force. People of all ethnicities who see Australia as their common bond all marched together. They marched in the middle of an economic crisis. They marched during a major housing shortage. They had a a simple message – put Australia first. Things are bad and they are getting worse. Young people are struggling to find meaningful work that pays enough to cover their rent. The idea of homeownership for them - a pipedream. It has never been this hard, and it will only get better when the politicians start listening. Ley as leader of the opposition is supposed to be the voice of an alternative government… with alternative ideas. The opposition should be giving a voice to the millions of Australians that are demanding change. Ordinary Australians are not naturally street protestors, and when they feel the need to come out in their thousands across the country, it is only because they don’t feel like they are being heard or represented in parliament. It is really Sussan's failure to do her job that has caused this circumstance. The truth is the protests only happened because the so-called opposition is absolutely useless right now. Ley simply apes the government’s narratives, opposing the very people that should prefer to vote for her. The best way to capture the spirit of a nation is not to chide them, chastise them or patronise them - like a primary school vice principal coaching the debate team. Sussan’s job is to give a voice to the voiceless. To speak for the forgotten Australians who are being badly hurt by Albanese’s open border policies, and inability to correct the economic slide. Regrettably, I fear the right-of-centre street activism will continue to build. More and more ordinary, taxpaying and hardworking Australians will see fit to hit the streets demanding a voice, until there is something like an opposition. Albanese is a terrible prime minister, hardly a man of the people, not charismatic and easy to beat. Ley, Littleproud, O’Brien and their coalition team are just that bad, that Albanese can do as he pleases - hurting the people of Australia. No amount of lecturing or wishful thinking from Ley and her parliamentary supporters will change the fact that the Australian people want to see change. Authentic, real and meaningful change. Not just a controlled opposition. We need the sort of change the leftwing powerbrokers in the coalition don’t want to see. Change that is is bad for their back-pockets. Change the politicians don’t want to see, because it will limit their future careers as global elite champagne sipping bureaucrats, working for the OECD or some other useless organisation. But it is only when that change comes that there will be support for their party. It is only change that will bring the temperature down. If the coalition don’t make significant change, they will simply die out completely. The first step is to replace Sussan with someone who believes in Australia and knows how to fix the place. That or get out of the way. It’s urgent. I just want Australia back.

We are not a dumping ground for the result of a failing asylum system. “Closing hotels is one thing but shifting the impact onto Essex communities is unacceptable and this is what will result from this increase. “Those impacts are felt by people in towns and cities miles from Wethersfield itself – in Braintree, Colchester, and Chelmsford – because that is where the men living at Wethersfield are bussed to and from every week. “As a consequence, our police are having to deal with incidents of illegal migrants with nothing to do with their time but hang around town centres and get into trouble, committing numerous crimes, behaving anti-socially and harassing people including women and girls. This stretches police resources as well as our own public health and mental health capacity. “Essex County Council has said from the very beginning that the location of Wethersfield – in a rural heartland 11 miles from the nearest town – is completely wrong for a facility of this nature. “I will be seeking an urgent meeting with the Government, and local partners including our Police, Crime and Fire Commissioner to challenge this latest afront to our residents.” Cllr Peter Harris, Leader of Essex County Council.

All 100 Senators stood for protecting children in youth residential treatment facilities and I couldn't have dreamed of a more powerful moment to be able to impact the system that harmed me. I am still in shock that my lived-experience, among the powerful survivor community, has been able to impact meaningful progress and change for the next generation of survivors. We still need this bill to get passed in the U.S House of Representatives to be signed by President Biden but WE ARE SO CLOSE! I am so grateful for the leadership of Chuck Schumer who has supported my initiative from the beginning, and to my bill sponsors Senator Jeff Merkley and Senator John Cornyn who I have had the honor to get to know personally and who have been the most dedicated, efficient, and collaborative bipartisan lawmakers.
