This tiny spikeless bundle, Dot, an orphaned echidna puggle who recently arrived at the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital. 💔 Sadly, Dot's mum was hit by a car, leaving her alone and vulnerable. Luckily, a kind member of the public found Dot and brought her to us just in time....

Will she grow spikes, or is this a separate sub-species? This was a full grown Echidna I encountered on Kangaroo Island. Super cute. And my profile pic is me petting a Porcupine in Alaska.

💔 FOUND LYING ON THE SIDE OF A ROAD💔💔💔💔 This tiny girl was found lying on the road after being hit by a car and rushed to UCD Veterinary Hospital. She was fighting for her life when she arrived. X-rays have revealed a broken pelvis, and tragically one of her legs is completely shattered and will need to be amputated. Despite everything she’s been through, she is the sweetest little soul and has already stolen hearts at the hospital. We’ve taken her under MLHR so she can get the care she desperately needs. Esme has a long road ahead of her, with major surgery and recovery to come, and unfortunately a very large veterinary bill. If you can help in any way, please consider donating or sharing this post. Every bit of support will go towards giving this brave little girl the chance she deserves. Thank you for helping us fight for Esme ❤️

This is Skedaddle. She was hit by a car, causing her femur to snap in half and leaving her with a dislocated hip. Sadly, she's in a lot of pain and not doing much skedaddling at the moment. You can donate to her surgery below ❤️‍🩹

Meet Maya 🐘❤️ Just one day old when she was abandoned by her herd, this little elephant calf's journey is nothing short of a miracle. Rescued by the Kerala Forest Department and brought to the Abhayaranyam Elephant Rehabilitation Centre at Kaprikkad, she battled incredible odds and took 40 days to stand on her own feet despite the dedicated efforts of forest officials and veterinarians. I named her Maya because her survival is truly miraculous—a testament to resilience, care, and compassion. Spending time with Maya, feeding her, and interacting with the teams working tirelessly for her recovery was a deeply moving experience. Every life saved is a victory for conservation. 🌿🐘 #Maya #ElephantConservation #Wildlife #Keralam #ProjectElephant #SaveWildlife #NatureConservation #WildlifeProtection #IncredibleIndia PMO India Bhupender Yadav MoEF&CC Central Zoo Authority Wildlife Institute of India Ramesh Pandey

Welcome Kaikai to the family - she has just joined our adoption program! Orphaned at just one week old, Kaikai survived thanks to the bravery of rangers, the teamwork of dedicated conservationists, and the expertise of our Keepers. She was hit by a car and suffered a severe leg injury, but she never stopped protecting her beloved babies. 💔🐾 This brave mama and her puppies were rescued just in time and rushed to the hospital. Despite all the pain she endured, her love for her little ones never faded. Day and night, she continues to hold them close and watch over them with every ounce of strength and devotion a mother can give. Every rescue is a miracle. Every act of kindness carries hope. ❤️ Now, her puppies are safe, and this little family is being given a beautiful new beginning they truly deserve.

In 2013, 15 year old Leonie Harm was out for her morning run and hit by a car leaving her with brain injuries, bone fractures, and a collapsed lung. She was put into an induced coma and given a 1% chance of survival by paramedics at the scene. But she made a full recovery and went on to be one of the best amateurs in the world. Today, she just made birdie on her last two holes to shoot a final round 69 and win her maiden title on the LET at the Amundi German Masters in front of her home fans. What an incredible story. Dare we say naughty Kipekee is… growing up? Since Zuri arrived and took her crown as the smallest and most spoiled member of the Nairobi herd, Kipekee’s manners have improved by a mile. Perhaps she’s determined to prove she’s the more mature of the two! Of course, she’s still a little princess to our Nursery nannies. Here, she helps herself to mouthfuls of Nyambeni’s hard-earned greens, with little complaint from the older girl! Rescued last June after losing her mother to human-wildlife conflict, Kipekee arrived in very poor condition. A year of round-the-clock care has seen her blossom, both physically and emotionally. Support her journey through an adoption, from $50/£35 a year:

Ears out, tail swinging – Kaikai is on a mission. And then, just like that, she runs out of steam and plonks down for an impromptu dust bath and siesta! When she arrived in our care, we knew we were in for an uphill battle. An orphaned newborn, she was confused and missing her mother, spending her first nights pacing her stable and crying. We assigned two of our most experienced Keepers to her care, and as the days and weeks unfolded, Kaikai started to heal from her emotional trauma. Today? She is full of mischief and growing by the day.

2025 ended on a very sad note for the Followills. We lost one of greyhounds, Joanie, in August. Our oldest grey, Jewel, was diagnosed with bone cancer two months ago and our time with her ended this week. She was a proud, stoic girl who was showing signs of a lot of pain. We agonized over the decision but it’s so difficult to see your best friend suffering. With the help of Lap of Love she crossed the bridge at home in a peaceful and comfortable setting with her mom, dad and little greyhound brother with her. She did live to almost 13 which is good for an ex-racer. She joined the Followill fam in January 2017 and was the perfect dog…happy and playful, very healthy until the end, and a great big sister to the other two! She loved her stuffies, walks, car rides and her humans! We had almost 9 amazing years with her that I tried to capture in this video with memories from her first day with us to her last. The connection between humans and dogs is so special. It’s heartbreaking to say goodbye but Jewel brought a lot of joy to our home (and Joanie as well). Those two were meant to be together in life and the memories of them will always be cherished!

Kipekee means “unique” in Swahili – and she’s certainly lived up to her name. When rescued a year ago, she was tiny enough to need a blue blanket for warmth during the day and to keep her snuggled at night. Today, following 16 months of specialist care and more than 5,000 bottles of milk – made possible with your support – she’s one of the Nursery’s big girls, growing in confidence and independence. Discover Kipekee’s story and be part of her journey back to the wild by adopting her:

If you are an organ donor in California and you removed yourself at the DMV to get rid of your pink dot on your license, you are not really removed 🚨 This woman’s friend tired to remove herself. An accident happened, she was clinically declared brain dead and because she wasn’t fully removed from the system the hospital took all her organs and her bones The family tired to fight it, even showing her current ID that the pink dot had been removed, but because she didn’t take the extra step to remove her as a donor in the secondary system she was still listed as an organ donor Because of this, the family couldn’t fight it and was their daughter was harvested against their will “Because she did not take that extra step, legally, her family couldn't do anything. And they tried their best to get the hospital to remove her even going as far as getting her current ID and her current ID does not have a pink dot on it, but it wasn't enough. She got her organs removed and her bones. It's very uncomfortable seeing someone, not how they were, especially after being a donating individual” The website people need to go to that will fully remove them from the donation registry is website donatelifecalifornia. org There have been a lot of people who have come forward about the organ donor program, much of it is not what you want to hear….

A woman in labor - at one of the most vulnerable moments of her life. Instead of comfort, she was mocked and threatened. She was told her face would be punched, her teeth broken, and that she would be choked if she screamed in pain. When her husband tried to comfort her by holding her hand, his mother ordered him to let go and he did, leaving her to endure the pain alone. Then, when the doctor recommended surgery, her wishes were denied. This isn't love. This isn't family. This is abuse and control.

This is us just now, she’s constantly back and forth weeing blobs of blood. She’s booked in with the vet later and the emergency vet gave her an injection at 2am this morning. I think she may need an ultrasound. There may be something sinister going on sadly. It’s a lot.
