This happened to me. Someone I know on Facebook video called me. We interacted briefly and I hung up. Something was off, so I called her directly on the phone. She answered and told me her Facebook was hacked and they were using AI video to scam people. Crazy.

Protect your kids, be prepared to say no and have some rules to void this situation. Really just don't let your kids have devices that this can happen on. We allow our 11 year old access to the internet via a laptop, but only in a room where we all are at the same time.

The AI didn't do this, criminals did. Everyone in the world is publicly posting themselves on the internet. The solution I believe, all AI companies must or user must sign a federal government agreement stating what you post is an AI generated. If you don't agree to to, you won't be able to post it.

This is not just about grooming children. With technology like this, people can be framed for criminal acts they never committed, and criminals can obtain fake alibis.

Scary! I heard another story about this kind of call where a girls voice calls her mom to say she needs help and it sounds exactly like her and her mom couldn’t tell the difference.

For those who say it's not true, let me tell you at least it makes sense, we need to be creative to protect our children. Better than the bogus lies creating race-baiting and fear of attacks etc. HOWEVER, I agree that anything using AI should be labeled.
