It actually makes me want to cry just how accepting of trans people this country, especially our media, used to be

you never heard this song before

My mama worked with trans people in the thirties and forties. See also Harold Gillies and surgery.

Didn’t Nadia win Big Brother as well?

Yep. 2004.

and this in the 90s.

I met Julia once when she owned Mahattan's (think that's what it was called,) in Manchester. My boyfriend at the time took me to meet her because she'd been a dj for him many years earlier at Linguards nightclub which he'd owned in Bradford 😀

Yeah she was quite they name on the Manchester scene, right? Again proving that trans ppl have always been with us gays.

The culture of the times is for billionaires to distract the peasants and simpletons onto the most vulnerable groups in society. Social media has just made this practice a lot easier, quicker & and more efficient for them.

Definitely in a whodunnit written in the golden age of crime novels, probably 1930s. Not Dorothy Sayers but in her era. If I can remember which novel it was I'll post it.

Such a classy lady 💕 RIP Julia your bravery in sharing your journey brought comfort to young people. You helped give them the knowledge & vocabulary to find themselves in the effed up heteronormative world we live in.
