These last few OVERLY ANIMATED scenes I've seen (the last two weeks) is showing me that Japanese studios are struggling to form cohesive visions. Like, wtf am I looking at? At this point it's just style over substance.

I hate using a buzzword like "overranimated", but every time I see a sakuga clip of One Piece posted, it's what I think Most of that is "well animated", but doesn't need to be storyboarded and animated that way to have looked good and it adds a bunch of movement (of both the camera and the characters/effects) that don't actually improve the readability or appeal of the sequence.
