Kyle Shanahan on Curtis Robinson: “He's really worked to get better each year, and he's a very talented guy. I think when he came here, he hadn't played in a system like this for a while. It took him a little bit to kind of pick that up, but we so believed in him as a guy and his talent level that after a year, you could start to see it clicking. He became a big asset on special teams, and last year was the first time that we really believed he was going to step in there, really contribute at linebacker at a high level. It was actually kind of a sad story, but it was about 20 minutes before he tours ACL, was the first time that I told him he'd be starting that week. It was his first start in his career, and he had earned it. We were going to move him ahead of Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles at the time. I had just told Flannigan, which was tough for Flannigan, but they were so tight, so he was happy for Curtis. Then it was about 20 minutes later that Curtis tore his ACL on special teams before he even got to a defensive rep. He was so coming in there and finally about to have his moment. He's the kind of person who plans things out, his photos, his lifestyle. Photos, outfits, travel, stuff like that. With a lifestyle like his, he should have a fashion brand to work with. When I found out he was going, I was so excited. I went and looked at the photos the fans took. I believe he'd been waiting for that day too. It must have been a big deal for him, because he once said it would be great if he could go to an event like that. So when I saw it, I was really, really happy. 🦈: If we're talking about something I'm proud of, I think it'd be the singer side of him. Because from the outside, everyone thinks William is a great singer, a really confident one. But I've always known that he actually still has those worries, like "Can I sing this well?" or "Is this song good?" But I feel like that feeling is almost gone now. He's getting closer and closer to being a real singer. He's put out a solo single, and it's a really hard song to sing, and a really good one. I feel like he's growing really well on his own path. He's heading in the direction he wants to go, becoming a singer, doing really well at it, and things are going smoothly for him.
