There is no slippery slope. These people were addicts long before they stepped too in his ER. I wouldn’t trust the doctor to treat my pet rock.

According to the @CDCgov, 125 million opioid prescriptions were dispensed in 2023, yet studies show that only 3.7% of US adults needed OUD treatment in 2022. Patients CAN use opioids responsibly. The ones that don't, find ways to identify them and support them, without judgement.

He is repeating nonsense. We've treated acute pain with opioids for well over 100 years, yet suddenly it creates instant addicts? And since peak prescribing was in 2012, why have opioid ODs risen exponentially?

I was in the ER 2 days ago and given 3 doses of morphine to lower my severe pain. I did not get high I was painfree and I am not now craving morphine or seeking to get it. I wish my pain on this Dr and to be only given tylenol for it and sent on his way.

What a bunch of BS! I know a lot of addicts. This is NOT how they started using. What I have heard are people in recovery who 'go out' after choosing to take opioid pain meds. That's not the drs responsibility nor is it a reason to torture the rest of us.

I call BS. He is mimicking what he has been taught. For chronic pain patients there is no euphoria and for those who are opioid naive, it makes them sleepy. I suppose he has questioned all these people while they were in ER asking addicts how they because addicted? and then said we dont prescribe opioids. He is not telling truth on his story. He is simply trying to justify why he wont give opioids with a unproven story.

HE IS DANGEROUS! Where is he a dr so that I do not go there? If he told me to take Tylenol for my TRIGEMINAL Neuralgia, I think they may have to calk Security! WHY is he so ... not SO smart but allowed to practice with human bodies?

Besides the cruelty of withholding pain meds… does intense post op pain reduce immune function leading to more infections developing or slower healing ?
