This umpire gave this kid and his team two warnings for throwing the bat at the catcher. He told them if it happened again they were going to get ejected from the game. Well….it happened again. The batter hit the ball back to the pitcher and the pitcher overthrew first base. But, the umpire called a dead ball and called the batter out and ejected him from the game. The coach came out to argue and said the batter didn’t throw the bat, that it was a regular follow through on the back swing. He told the umpire they had it on film. The umpire said he had it on film too. Then the third base coach came down to argue and the umpire told the coach he was wrong and that he had it on video. You can hear the parents screaming at him. Some people said that was a terrible call and he let go legally on the follow through. You can also hear them tell the umpire that he had it out for that kid. 🤯 But a lot of people sided with the ump and said he handled it well and with that many warnings that it was a fantastic call. 💯 The umpire gave the same kid two prior warnings. Even if it wasn’t intentional, there has to be consequences after a third time. He could seriously injure the catcher. This will help the batter in the future hopefully. What do you think? This Georgia Bulldogs batter, Tre Phelps, was ejected after he hit a go ahead home run against Liberty in the NCAA Regional Final game in Athens. Phelps homered and has he starts to run the bases, the home plate umpire felt that he was taunting the Liberty dugout and he continued to celebrate all the way around the bases. You can see some Liberty players ask him “what are you doing?” I guess the umpire had seen enough. Georgia Head Coach Wes Johnson was also thrown out for arguing Phelps’ ejection. Many people said he was waving to his family and said it didn’t matter, that he should be allowed to celebrate and that you can’t eject a player for that. Others said they were glad he was ejected and that there is no place in the game for this type of behavior- taunting the other team. If I was his coach I would have been livid at him for acting that way. Respect the game, respect the players and act like you have been there and just play the game. Quit the theatrics. What do you think? Do you think the umpire was justified in ejecting him or do you think he had a right to celebrate?

This minor league pitcher for the Lake County Captains threw an inside pitch and the initial call was a foul ball against the batter for the Dayton Dragons. The batter was bent over in pain. Replay clearly shows that the batter was hit on the elbow but he is wearing a plastic elbow guard so maybe the sound made the umpire think it hit the bat. The coach comes over to vehemently argue the call and the umpire ejects him from the game. I didn’t see the plate umpire ask for help from the infield umpires. If he didn’t, he should have. The coach had a legitimate argument and was correct. I thought minor league baseball used replay too so not sure why it wasn’t reviewed. Maybe they don’t. What’s even more bizarre is the pitcher ends up striking the batter out and then starts celebrating and walking towards him. They ejected him. 🤯 Do you think if an umpire ejects a player or coach over arguing a call but it is determined later that the player or coach was indeed correct that the umpire should be penalized somehow? A fine maybe? A game assignment taken away? I think they should.

This baseball game took a turn for the worse in a hurry. The much bigger coach comes out to argue and gets in the umpire’s face, chest to chest. The umpire shoves him away and then the coach comes in and grabs him by the neck. The umpire takes a swing but misses and then finally the other coaches come onto the field to break everything up. Some people said that the umpire pushed the coach first, which he did. Others said when someone is chest to chest with you and in your face, he had every right to try and keep some space and distance between them. The umpire tells the coaches to call the cops because it was assault and one of the parents agrees with him. But someone said he pushed first so who is the assault on? This is wrong from every angle. Look at that poor catcher. He doesn’t even know what to do. Another day, another baseball game for young men ruined by the coach. What in the heck are we teaching our young players? It would take $500 bucks for me to even think of umpiring in this day and age. People are crazy. Who do you think was at fault? The umpire for shoving him first? The coach for arguing in the first place and grabbing him by the neck? Both of them? Sad state of affairs all around.

This coach crashes out at a 14U baseball game. The coach comes down from third base and screams at the home plate umpire. It’s quiet as can be so he has everyone’s attention. He tells the umpire that he has been great all tournament but this particular call was abysmal and he knows it. 🤯 The fans clap after he finishes. 😳 The man behind the fence behind home plate (tournament director?) yells at the coach that he just said it, he’s been great all tournament but you are going to lose it over one questionable call? What I don’t get is the fans clapping. They are just encouraging this horrible behavior. Sad that we have parents that support that. If you told me as a coach before the tournament that this umpire would be great the whole tournament but will miss one call, I’d say that’s my guy, that’s my umpire. But to just completely lose it in front of all those boys? Shameful. Another coach who thinks he coaching the the World Series in MLB. And we wonder why there is an umpire shortage? Do you prefer and approve of a coach like that? (Some people do) or do you prefer a quieter coach who keeps his emotions in check?

This 18 year old senior HS baseball player volunteers to umpire. The coach is complaining about walk up music for the kids on the other team. 🙄 The 18 year old tells him there is nothing wrong and let’s play ball. He tells the coach you can either go back to the dugout or go to your car. The coach continues on. The umpire asks the kids- do you want to play baseball or watch the coach argue? All the kids say we want to play. 💯 The coach continues and the ump throws him out. Then the coach pulls his team off the field. They aren’t going to play. 🤯 This young umpire handled himself more as an adult than the coach did imho. There is always one it seems who wants to make it more about themselves than about the kids. Only takes one. Do you think the umpire handled it correctly? Would you be upset at your coach if he pulled your team off the field and forfeited?

This young man hit a towering home run over the fence. But when he gets back home, the run counts and the umpire ejects him for flipping the bat. Many people said what’s the big deal? A lot of people flip the bat. But a lot of people agreed with the ump. Great call. Teach them now that is no way to act. I think the ump may have just wanted him but when he watched him throw his helmet off and jump across home plate as well, I think it became an easy decision. What do you think? Do you think the umpire made the right call? Was the ejection justified?

This happened during a 12U girls softball game. The umpire had called batter’s interference on the previous batter. As he is getting ready to call the next pitch, he pops up and tells the coach at third base that he doesn’t want to hear it. He doesn’t want to hear one more word, that it was batter’s interference and it’s an easy rule to understand. The coach says something and the ump tells him he’s gone. Then he hears one of the players laughing and ejects that player but the kid says “I didn’t do anything” and the umpire says “you’re F’n laughing.”😳 Then the parents get all up in arms over the cussing and he loses it and starts ejecting the parents. One parent tells the umpire that he’s gone for using the F word. 😂 The umpire continues- “you’re gone! Get out of here! Get out of here! You’re gone! And then tells them “You have to leave. I don’t think you understand your position in these games. “🤯 What a fiasco this turned into. 💯 The umpire shouldn’t be cussing. That we know, but, the coaches and parents and players getting on an umpire, laughing and belittling him, it’s just too much. If they all had kept their mouths shut none of this would have happened. He’s the umpire. He makes the calls. Arguing it isn’t solving anything and just escalates the tensions in the game. He should have remained calm and taken control of the game but he let his own emotions take over. Another day, another game, another embarrassment from all the adults involved, including the umpire, in front of twelve year old girls. 🤦‍♂️ Again, what is the answer to all this? How do we get this to stop? How do we put the focus back on the kids and teach them how to play the game right and how to act accordingly?

I’ll tell you, this is the reason I gave up coaching after 20 years, parents like this. They ruin it for everyone. What would you do if you were the coach of that team? Ask the fathers not to attend games? Kick the boys off because of their parents? What’s the best way to handle this?

This umpire called a ball that the defensive team thought was a strike. The coach called a timeout after the walk and gathered his infield on the mound. On the next pitch, the catcher slid to the right out of the way of the ball making no attempt to catch it and let it drill the umpire right in the mask. Umpires are fallible human beings. Bad call? Maybe it was. But intentionally letting the ball hit him is poor sportsmanship, dangerous and has no place in the game. The coach, pitcher and catcher should all be ejected from the game. Heck, I might just call the game if I was the umpire and if that is what you are teaching your players, maybe that coach should never be allowed to coach again. What would you do if you were the umpire? How about if it was your child pitching or catching? And what are you saying to the coach if he was the coach of your team?

This shift manager at McDonald’s told this employee to clock out and go home. He’s upset and wants to know why. She told him to clean the lobby and she said it took him two hours, which was way too long. She said he was on his phone and another manager and herself both told him to get off his phone. She asked him “are you done?” And he told her “don’t talk to me like that.” 😳 She goes and tells the security guard to escort him out. He said “they pay me what they pay me and I move at my pace.”🤯 He said he doesn’t want to work nights. He said he’s going to sue her and he’s not going to let her treat him like a slave. 🙄 The majority of people said they support the manager and stand with her. As an employee, you work the schedule they give you and you stay off your phone. Don’t like it? Then don’t work there. She wanted him to work harder- what a concept. 💯 Who do you side with? Do you think because the pay is low that he shouldn’t bust his back working? Or do you agree with the manager that he’s lazy and should be sent home for being on his phone and talking to her like that?

They kept on going so….. he called “ballgame!” The heckling parents asked him if he felt better and he said “I feel fine, you feel okay?….the game is for your kid……you wanna argue balls and strikes in a little league game? Come on!” Then one of the parents says “and this guy’s a firefighter who protects your neighborhood!” 😳 Some people feel that maybe that guy’s Captain at the Fire Station needs to know how he’s acting out in public. Others said he should be banned all season. 💯 I can’t stand parents who act like that. I bet those kids were upset they didn’t get to play. The coach of that team should have intervened and got rid of that parent. Now his players paid the price for some “adult” who couldn’t keep his mouth shut. What would you do? This dad called 911 because his seven year old autistic son wasn’t behaving and was having a tantrum. The officer that spoke with him told the father that it was completely inappropriate to call the police over this. He said they have an entire town to protect and three officers responded and then asks the dad while chuckling - “can’t handle a seven year old?” The dad tells him that he has called 911 twice before but no one has ever got mad at him like this officer. The officer tells him that they are approaching charging him with false summoning a police officer. He also tells him that if he can’t handle a seven year then maybe they should get CYS involved because clearly the dad needs parenting classes. 😳 Many said the officer was rude and didn’t have to be. That his job is to protect and SERVE the community and that the family was just reaching out, that he needed support and someone to to talk to because they have no idea how hard it is to raise an autistic child? This dad called 911 because his seven year old autistic son wasn’t behaving and was having a tantrum. The officer that spoke with him told the father that it was completely inappropriate to call the police over this. He said they have an entire town to protect and three officers responded and then asks the dad while chuckling - “can’t handle a seven year old?” The dad tells him that he has called 911 twice before but no one has ever got mad at him like this officer. The officer tells him that they are approaching charging him with false summoning a police officer. He also tells him that if he can’t handle a seven year then maybe they should get CYS involved because clearly the dad needs parenting classes. 😳 Many said the officer was rude and didn’t have to be. That his job is to protect and SERVE the community and that the family was just reaching out, that he needed support and someone to to talk to because they have no idea how hard it is to raise an autistic child? This 96 mph high and inside pitch by Cubs pitcher Ben Brown almost beans Pittsburgh Pirates batter Konnor Griffin. Griffin thinks and acts like it hit him and starts to trot down to first. The home plate umpire rules that the batter was not hit by the pitch. The replay booth checks it out and rules with the umpire- the batter was not hit. Pirates manager Don Kelly came out to argue and was ejected. The announcer says Griffin isn’t just going to drop his bat and run to first. Uhm, yes, players have been known to fake getting hit. After replay, to be honest, I cannot tell if he got hit. Replay has to be conclusive to overturn it. What do you think? Do your eyes see the ball hit the bill of the helmet? Was he hit or not? This 8U/9U girls softball game had some unruly parents…. And it also had an awesome umpire who gets it. After this parent’s daughter scored he yells to her “…run through her if they are in your way. Run through her. “Another parent then says, yeah, run her a** over.” The umpire hears it and walks over and tells him ,”Don’t do that Pops, don’t do that. Don’t do that man, it ain’t that serious…Calm down. It ain’t that serious. Calm down. Calm down. It’s called sportsmanship.” ❤️ That umpire is a hero in my book that day. He is exactly right. He reminds them this is just a game. It is NOT that serious and it IS called sportsmanship. I wish every game had an umpire like him. That is excellent stuff. 💯 These parents telling their little girls to run over someone in an 8U/9U girls softball game? That’s disgusting and crazy. Don’t you think it’s getting to the point where we are going to have to have a rule that says parents can’t say anything? Maybe we need an umpire in the stands who watches just the parents?
