This unidentified plane—whose origin is unknown, but likely a Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules, based on the six visble propellers—passed our ship overhead three times around noon today, while we sailed east of Sicily today. It was not seen on OSINT air traffic maps at the time.

Certainly one of the greatest putters of all time, perhaps THE greatest putter of all time. Jack Nicklaus letting the putter head get behind his hands on the backstroke and releasing it on the forward stroke. Again, why is this stroke not taught today? It was used by almost every great putter in history, but is hard to find on tour today.

NEW: One person deceased after a plane crashed while landing at Scottsdale Airport in Arizona. As the plane landed, it was seen veering off the runway, crashing into another plane. “A Learjet 35A veered off the runway after landing and crashed into a Gulfstream 200 business jet on the ramp at Scottsdale Municipal Airport in Arizona around 2:45 p.m. local time Monday, Feb. 10,” the FAA said in a statement, according to Fox. Three others on board the plane were rushed to the hospital. It’s unclear what their injuries are.

Addressing the elephant in the room, our area of interest in the gulf. It has deteriorated a bunch today but that was as expected as convection inland will likely remain more dominant until the sun sets tonight. However, even then it did not and continues to not show real signs of imminent development. But we do need to watch this, the NHC has it at a 30% of development. Atmos Weather

❗️ A Russian Orion strike drone appears to have crashed beside the highway leading out of Crimea near Kerch. Russian tourists waiting at the Kerch Bridge checkpoint to leave Crimea from the Kerch side on June 26, 2026, filmed burning UAV wreckage in a field next to them. According to those at the scene, the drone was shot down directly overhead by air defenses. Based on what is visible from this angle, the wreckage bears a resemblance to a Russian Orion strike UAV, although the available footage is not ideal. But most likely, it was one of the Russian Orion drones based at the Kerch airfield that was either brought down by Russia's paranoid air defenses or decided to self-destruct, which, in the case of the Orion, is not uncommon, as these drones have a well documented tendency to crash during landing.

This is hard to watch! While we were sitting around at Thanksgiving with our families, there was a family that was enduring what may be their most painful Thanksgiving that will carry over to each year when this time comes around. Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was shot and critically injured in Washington D.C. November 26, 2025, the day before Thanksgiving. On November 27, 2025, Sarah Beckstrom succumbed to her injuries and as her father said "has passed on to glory". Every Thanksgiving that we have from here on out, we should not only remember what we are thankful for but also the sacrifice that Sarah Beckstrom made. Gone but not forgotten! Rest in Peace. 🪦

Flew with Vietnam Airlines A350 today and the experience was not the best. Remote controller was broken, service was let’s say, very slow. Huge plane, understaffed folks. Tried contacting the crew soon after take off but no one answered. Around an hour later they finally attended to enquire the issue only to ghost me for another hour with the final reply being, we know it’s broken. Just don’t use it 🤷‍♂️ Imagine the outrage on Twitter if this was Air India.

Update day 6: Seas are calmer and NE wind is holding. We sailed well last night. Personally managed to get some sleep once the rolling subsided (I like a gentle roll but, lets say, a sleeping bag sliding around on the deck and cold winds and noise of rigging angrily fluttering is not conducive to sleep). Today we should cross 1/3 of the distance but hope incoming westerly wind is gentle and does not blow us again off course.
