Pretty much the only time I support this kind of theatrics in church is when it’s for a kids’ event. That shouldn’t be the only thing they’re getting from church, but a kids’ camp like this can be a lot of fun and send the kids home with some spiritual truths, too.

This is fine for VBS. Not fine for a Sunday service. Fun is allowed.

As an Orthodox Christian I actually do not mind this. It does not interfere with the holy mysteries and is more like a camp. How fun for the kids!

Awesome! They got the budget - make it fun. #ProtestiaPettyPostingAgain

The Custodian, knowing he has to clean all that up

We used to have super-hyped VBS like that. We discovered that, if we did retain any of the children from the community, they returned thinking that church would be like that every Sunday. When we started music that next Sunday a family of kids that had attended and we had picked up ran to the front to dance like we had all week. It was embarassing for them (though our people were kind and didn't mind). Unfortunately, a lot of times these kinds of events end up being a bait-and-switch for the kids . At least, it is unless you do your kids programs like that all the time. (We don't).

But do they learn about Jesus and His Grace? 😬❤️

Feel sorry for the janitor
