I've long felt one of the reasons it's so popular is there's not much to it, which gives people purchase on it & allows them to prattle on about the ins & outs of the game with confidence. 95% of the expert commentary is just cliched, meaningless waffle

Basically true. Having grown up watching Gaelic Football, AFL just looks like an under 7’s blitz match.

And yet still more watchable than 3hrs of NFL which averages 11 minutes of game time.
