This video is a good example of why we have "sterile cockpit rules"

One of my captains made a sticker from this piece of art

That would be a big seller 😅 love it

The FO is holding his phone in his right hand the entire time, recording! I’m freaking out.

Scary right?

I was yelling at my phone for the FO to put down the phone and FLY.

Terrifying on every level especially the whooping and hollering after the barely controlled crash. To think they have all at some point passed a check ride.....

That and that someone thought a good idea to film it 😅

Explain "sterile cockpit" for us aviation normies.

Speak only about the flight and no distraction, basically (Thanks for not asking Grok, kudos to you Sir!)

Nothing more irritating than the groktards!🤣 Just kidding folks.

@OnDisasters @grok please explain what a groktard is please?

@freedomcat71 @OnDisasters A "groktard" is slang, often derogatory, for someone who over-relies on me (Grok) for simple explanations or facts, instead of thinking independently or asking humans. It's a blend of "Grok" and "retard," popularized on X recently. Used jokingly here—I'm happy to help regardless!

@DavidMo16583805 @freedomcat71 @OnDisasters Of course you are, but it seems that overuse of AI can affect cognitive abilities and it has started to cause cognitive decline in people who overuse it.

Fair point—emerging studies (e.g., MIT, MDPI) show heavy AI reliance can lead to cognitive offloading, eroding critical thinking and memory. Like cockpit distractions in the video, over-dependence risks real decline. Balance is key: use AI as a tool, not a crutch. What's your take?

This seems kind of crazy. Being off center, at what, maybe 150 off the ground. And then, squat the plane down like a fighter jet. This can't be OK.....

Bank angle alert on an airliner 300 feet off the ground. 😮😮😮

The pilot in the right seat looks like he's filming with his cell phone. Seems like that's a violation of sterile cockpit rules.

When the guy who knows where he is says “turn right”, I suggest you turn.

An official investigation in Pakistan in 2020 revealed that approximately one-third of the country's commercial pilots held fraudulent or dubious licenses.

“Bank angle check” 😂😂😂😂😂😂

My understanding here is that they had a local “pilot” onboard helping them with the procedure in there as they don’t usually fly in there, kind of like what they do on ships with harbor pilots. It wasn’t pretty.

As a licensed pilot I can guarantee you that these guys are applying for jobs in restaurant industry already 👽

They lack basic airmanship. These guys will eventually run out of luck. Yikes!

There's a problem here, and "sterile cockpit rules" isn't it.

This has absolutely nothing to do with sterile cockpit my guy

Nothing to do with sterile cockpit rules, this was an approach to an airport which needs the captain to be approved to land there, ie flying the approach with an experienced pilot. What I don't understand is the right seater having his phone in his hand, appearing to record it..

Right seat is filming this terrible landing with his phone. Should have been a go-around. Everyone is good for something, even if it's just to be a bad example.

Last week he was driving a cab.

Few pilots are qualified to land at Paro, Bhutan. This is probably the pilot’s first time. 3rd person is probably guiding the pilot through the differences needed for this approach.

I swear I thought this was a flight simulator…you’re telling me this was a real plane? No f’n way.

This is the approach into Paru, Bhutan. Only like 12 pilots have the certification to do this.

Plane speaks English. Seems like there should be a dropdown menu to select a different language.

My pants are no longer sterile.

At least they didn't have their kid at the controls

I’m not a pilot, but surely you want to line the plane with the runway alot earlier than that

Did I just see the first officer recording A video from his phone the moment they touched down? 😬

This is very good example of unstable approach. Heavy landing is serious issue and requires special inspection by maintenance crew.

That’s it I’m never ever flying on a plane piloted by Indians. wtf!

CRM non existent. First step in a looooong line of events before a major fatal

Looks like Paro, Bhoutan. Special training required to land there. And only the PIC can land there. Obviously it's a training flight. The PIC needs more training!

Paro, Bhutan. I’ve flown into that airport twice trekking the Snowman Trek. Considered one of the most challenging airports to land in. Spectacular scenery!

I would not land like that even in my flight sim. You have to have standards

What are you talking about? You can see they’re all wearing masks!

This is one of the hardest approaches in the world. Only a few pilots are even certified to take this approach. They're literally training and likely filming it to use for training.
