i kinda like this guy. he was firm and passionate about his point, but he wasn't condescending and mean with it. very solution-oriented, too! good video, good post, 10/10

Once dated a girl like this , I understand the guy - those girls are so draining and exhausting, from the chat you’ll see the guy is probably tired of her insecure self , man should run away and not look back abeg !!!

Ngl. Been that girl. When you’ve gotten out on the other side, it’s very cringe to look back on past behavior and inner thoughts. We really be our own worst enemies. Literally will ruin a good thing.

Ofc the top comment is this. Like the answer to most things: it depends? Yeah, if you want reassurance via actions instead of words alone, that’s understandable. However, no one, and I mean NO ONE wants to be on 24/7 call to give you reassurance. How is this a controversial take??

Stop taking relationship advice from tiktok. My mom still seeks reassurance from my dad and they're 26 years strong.

When you’re in a relationship it is ok to ask for reassurance and expect kindness in return. If it becomes too much, then it’s a relationship conversation to heal and grow together. I don’t really get this hyper-independence stuff when it comes to relationship convos.

@Diegwu_ Exactly. You can’t always be looking for reassurance, unless you fix yourself first. No amount of reassurance will ever be enough, and randomly wanting it at the most absurd of situations is more tiring

Not everyone can really deal with that kinda bullshit... if you can't love yourself there's little you can actually give no matter how you try.

One emotionally unavailable man will hold on to this video but context always matters. If you have once broken you partner’s trust and rarely compliment them then this doesn’t apply, of course you need to work extra to reassure and win their trust again.

Something that he kind of mentioned is that as the person who is constantly reassuring their partner you start questioning why your answers aren't enough. If I tell you 100x that I love you and you ask if I really love you does that mean you think I was lying the other 100 times?

Relationships like that don't last. The other gets tired of the whole thing and they end up ruining it for each other.

Dated someone like this for five fucking years and it’s accurate lmao. Almost madee me think this video was about her ☠️. Yall can be having a smooth ass day and then here comes the insecurity and doubt. Feeling good doesnt help them at all. They are mentally addicted to doubt

If you don't love yourself first, then you become co-dependent on others to fill that void, which isn't fair to them and not good for you either.

Let me say it again for the mentally undeveloped men among us: They are all crazy for a couple days a month. And you would too, if you had “hit in the balls” type of pain for 3-7 days. And add that to the fact that, if she loves you, she unconsciously sees you as her dad (protector), which then unlocks her childish ways!

very accurate, learning to trust your partner and sometimes distrust your thoughts is really healthy. sometimes your thoughts are wrong and a cigar is just a cigar.

Some neurodivergent people struggle with emotional permanence. Folks with ADHD in particular can have difficulties with working memory and emotional regulation, which make it hard for them to mentally recall emotional connection when the person isn't physically there

Yeah, sometimes a one line is enough to calm the person down. It doesn’t have to be like that always, but how hard is it to give someone you “love” a little reassurance?

He is her boyfriend not her therapist. Not everybody is built to handle stuff like this, we all got mental baggages of our own to deal with.

From my experience it’s cuz she’s done unspeakable things in the past and knows if he knew about it he’d leave so she’s always on edge cuz she’s knows she don’t deserve love.

@WaderMelony i need to fix myself for my relationship. i have never been this serious about something/someone before and i worry my insecurities and overthinking will ruin us. i want him happy, so i will do everything in my power to fix myself for him, and for us.

The reassuring partner is great if you're also trying to heal from insecurities, but when you're actively pushing your own agenda against yourself no amount of reassuring is going to defeat the army that is your own mind

I don't know why this is in fyp since I do not even have a romantic relationship once in my life, but the video is very putting for people with insecurities who rely on reassurances.

I’m so conscious of it, and my partner is too. The problem is that I dont trust myself enough to ask for it, so I don’t do. It’s kind of working because we do it unconsciously without seeking for it but when I need reassurance, I’m scared to seek out for him and I feel so bad.
