The general message of the clip is 100 % correct, though. Physical media should work out of the box, period. With Switch 2, there will eventually be a way to do this offline, as soon as cards have a new enough firmware for backwards compatibility. HOWEVER, there are physical games that still don't work, even with the newest firmware installed. That is a massive, massive issue. We posted about this on our Patreon:
